A Republican and former U.S. Senator from Nebraska is expected to be nominated for secretary of defense, sources tell CNN.
The White House has told some senior members of Congress to expect President Obama to nominate Chuck Hagel as defense secretary, according to a knowledgeable source. Another source with knowledge of the nomination called it "locked down."
The timing is uncertain, but other sources have told CNN it could come early next week.
This is WONDERFUL WONDERFUL news!
Hagel was excellent in his balanced criticism of the Iraq War, when it was brave to do so. He's been open to making cuts in the $1T/yr "defense" budget, unlike all other Republicans and most Democrats. Like Kerry, Hagel is an excellent choice and will be part of the successful legacy of Obama nominations. Let the shrill neo-con traitors scream all they want.
YES WE CAN.
Looks like, Obama is showing his strength to his opponents and basically to the Israeli lobbies around the globe. Hope, he will succeed and place his name in the great, daring and mightiest American President. If he will bogged down, during the process, he will be considered as the timid President, Who has no guts to stand-up to the Israeli puppets in the Congress and Senate.
hagel! bagel! what's the difference?
Same rhetoric, people accept the communist turning Government. About this for news Los Zetas de Mexico members are actors in the novella and even financing it too. Who cares an told!!!
Neo cons, party of war and Israel is dead set against Hagel's nomination. Assessing him to be not enough pro-Israel. A lot of pressure is being exerted to thwart his nomination.
I just hope Pr.Obama acts re-elected.
OnLy in the eYeS of the BeHoLdEr!
If this happens then it will be a feather in Obama's hat.
Neo cons, party of war & Tel Aviv are dead set against his nomination.
Hagel is assessed to be not enough pro-Israel. And thats what matters in all that goes on in Washington.
Not me above
"He is not enough pro-Israel" is the chant.
further comments are blocked. You can guess why.
I signed off on a petition today to the White House by Jewish Voice for Peace. Asking the president to stand up to pressure from Tel Aviv & its lobbies here and to nominate Hagel.
@ saywhat, you know our prez is GONNA do the right thing for our country! ;) Thats what ticks the GOP off most i think, cuz as hard as they try they really cant find one darn thing in his past that makes him look less than noble!
