[Updated at 5:45 p.m. ET] Medical treatment in Cuba will keep Venezuelan President Hugo Chavez from being sworn in for a new term this week, a top official said Tuesday.
At the same time, supporters and opponents of Chavez – who has been undergoing cancer treatment in Cuba for the past month – are bracing for a legal battle over whether the inauguration can be postponed.
Venezuela's vice president said in a statement Tuesday that the inauguration would occur before the country's Supreme Court at a "later date," hours after the opposition called on the nation's top court to decide whether that's possible.
Offshore Brazil should be flowing to America in plenty of time for the international blockade of Venezuela. That, and the Keystone Pipeline must be in place before we sh/tcan CITGO, the Venezuelan peoples' national oil company.
Iran is what's gonna happen to Venezuela. China depends on Iran for much of their energy needs. Iran couldn't be blockaded until an alternative energy supply for China had been put in place. (Carlyle group oil and Ng flowing to China via captured Afghan pipelines)
The Deepwater Horizon wells were supposed to do the trick. But that didn't work-out too good. So, President Obama called for a moratorium on Gulf oilwell drilling and at the same time apporved offshore Brazil which presents the same exact hazzard: Extremely high BHPs (pressire measured at the bottom of a 5 mile hole drilled into the earth while drilling, for example)
The Deepwater Horizon BHP was so high, US Navy X-rays of the BOP stack showed 2 thirty foot joints of drillpipe sandwiched inside. 19,000 feet if drillpipe had been lifted 60'. Of course Halliburtons cement didn't hold. Nobody's would have held.
Nostalgia. RIP Men of Cardinal Drilling Rig 3, a 9,870 ft. well that blew out in, oh, must of been '79 or '80. Drillpipe came sickling out of the hole like spaghetti. All 9,870 feet of it. The rig burned down to a pile of nothing. Rig 3 was a real beauty, too. Red and white with a giant cardinal bird painted on the doghouse.
gawd I'm glas to be out of the oilpatch.
Maybe he'll be cured if his best friend sean penn stops by for some tea.
