As of Wednesday morning, U.S. Air Force C-17 cargo jets have made five flights to Mali, delivering about 80 French troops and more than 124 tons of supplies to help in the fight against Islamist insurgents in the country, a Pentagon spokesman said.
The U.S. airlift began Monday and was expected to continue for several days, U.S. Africa Command spokesman Chuck Prichard told CNN.
"We continue to consult with the French on further steps that we may take as U.S. government to support their efforts in Mali," Pentagon press secretary George Little said Wednesday, according to a report from American Forces Press Service.
Now of course some stupid Paulbots with no understanding of the world will rant about the New World Order and how it is not the U.S.'s business to get involved there. Well grow up kids. The world is more complicated than that senile dwarf of yours makes it look to be.
"Paulbots", as you call us, have plenty of understanding of the world. We understand that every time the US government gets involved in picking winners and losers, it backfires. Every time. We put Saddam in power, then had the problem of taking him out. On and on it goes.
Republicrats like you need to get their heads out of the sand and understand that every action has an equal but opposite reaction. If we keep going around trying to be the police of the world, it will come back to haunt us. This time and every time.
you're so smart. we should just send you to deal with it.
Putting John Smith's puns aside, he's right. The world is growing evermore intricate, and there needs to be some sort of justice. My personal stance on the subject is there should be no "let them fight for themselves" or "the U.S. should stay out" type of mentality. If someone is in dire need of help, we should give them the help. If this means killing someone to save someone...so be it. No, I'm no crazy person, well, perhaps I am, because in the end all I pray for is peace and common sense.
Some events are none of our business. This is one of them.
Uncle Sam called Frenchie La'pue and said Hey, throw a couple troops in so it looks more international than it is, jyves95.
"What difference does it make" said Hillary. What she should have added is "Look we delayed the facts until after the election so we could win.Sorry".
The photos show that the local people do not want either the US or French there. "Hands Off Muslim Land". Let the Muslim countries of the world take care of this conflict. No more nation building!!
Really. You are going to point to the protests of Islamists in London as evidence the Malians don't want the French in Mali... You're an idiot. The vast majority of Malians reject the Islamo-fascists and want them kicked out. Don't be such a simpleton.
Lets save some money and keep the USAF planes there until the French surrender in a few days
Bring more troops and help the people, and clear out all the Islamist insurgents groups. I'm a Jamaican, Canadian man, its no joking matter. I't to the USA forever to come wow!!!
Big mistake getting involved in this.
You are correct but president O'Bomber doesn't care.
Remember when France denied the US air rights to fly to Lybia? Here we are turning the other cheek. I hope they remember in the future.
RAF Lakenheath and RAF Upper Heyford bombers narrowly missed the Frawg embassy in Tripoli in April 1986 for that indiscretion as well... Operation El Dorado Canyon!
Funny why they denied the air-space back then BUT were the first to advocate going into Libya in 2011... Some evidence(s) to get rid of???
Have to take it to them. Algeria did a great job.
Well, now that we are getting involved, its only a matter of time before we are sending billions to the Mali government for them to hide in forign banks for after the leaders are deposed from the government, I am beginning to suspect that someone in our government is taking kickback from the governments that we send money to, Imagine, say 25% of say 50 billion dollars, I just can't believe we are that stupid to keep sending money to governments even after the turn on us unless someone is taking kickbacks!!!
The French are simply using us to save money. And we fell for the con.
The snobby French need our help again, what a surprise.
Anti-French Americans...must find themselves in a dilemma. They hate the French but also the Islamists who spread terrorism and sharia where ever they are. Never mind France was in A-stan helping Uncle Same from day one, French-bashers ignore that fact. So whose side are you on??
Obviously not on the side of France. French-bashers and Taliban....one and the same.
Let Mali deal with Mali. I for one am getting tired of footing the bill for every nation propping exercise in the world today. Assisting France is such a waste of time. Anything we do for France will be spat back in our face when help is no longer needed. It's just the french way.
yep, just like France "spat" on your back by helping you carry your water in A-stan. Thanks for proving to me that Americans are arrogant ingrates. We always suspected it, now we're sure of it.
