Former Detroit Mayor Kilpatrick heading back to jail

Former Detroit mayor Kwame Kilpatrick is headed back behind bars, but only for a few days.

The Michigan Department of Corrections charged him with 14 parole violations late Thursday and he'll spend the weekend in jail.

Kilpatrick agreed to report to the Detroit Reentry Center late Friday and will be released Monday, according to Corrections spokesman Russell Marlan.

Kilpatrick is currently on trial in a public corruption case in U.S. District Court. His release would allow him to be back in court next week.

From acceptance of crimes be they small or large by anyone elected or not of those who live off of public funs is to trivalize the highest crime in the land, the Breaking of "public Trust."
While from Supreme Court Justices Presidents, Congress Military to the Police on the block give lip service to it they are almost immune to prosecution for breaking that trust.
They, the Powers demand of us that they be given the Right to decide Life, Death,State of Mind while We the people cannot trust them to live each day "Honestly", and demand mandatory sentences for our trashresdions of their rules upon us.
Let us, We the People femand a "Mandatory" sentence of they who break our trust of 10 years with no early release or chance of parole added too the penaltys of civil violations.

Lol @ Mama, hes been revieved o his duties for years. Mayor Bing is on his 2nd term already. The violations themselves are really stupid hence the wknd stay only. He recieved christmas gifts and didnt report them to his probation officer. One was a gift from his mother to pay his sons tuition. They have WASTED tens of thousands of tax dollars doing this kind of crap and meanwhile the city is broke. They dont have most of their streetlights wkg and garbage pickup is on a halt. Time to give it up already!

Gifts are not concidered *income* are they? Particularly when it was a gift to his child. Im thinking Mayor Bing is working double hard to keep Kwame in the spotlight in order to reflect his ineffiecencies as a Mayor because all HES done is push Detroit into bankruptsy. He shoulda stuck with basketball!

Lol i know what you mean @ Scottish Mama! The next story you will be reading soon will be of Gov Schnyder he is doing the same thing Kllpatricric did for which he already served time in the pen for. All this other stuff now is because Detroit is trying to get money from former Mayor Kilpatrick, money hd doesnt have. Just a horrendous waste of time.

@chrissy I just posted to you. I would think not since he is not in office but may be part of his parole. Washington does not believe it, with all the tickets and lobbyist gifts. lol

14 parole violations, no matter how minor, would be much more time to serve than a weekend for the average citizen. So much for equality in the justice system.

It's not just Kwame/Detroit – The Lansing Michigan republicans that control the State are entirely corrupt as well. Due to their insistence on writing knowingly bad legal policy over the last year, Michigan citizens now pay the highest auto insurance prices in the entire USA. Often over 2x as high as other States!
Worse still, they are doing nothing to change this, and refuse to answer questions. Their insider pals are getting rich off of ripping off the Michigan public, and they could care less.
