A dog whose rejection by his owner caused an Internet uproar has been adopted into a new, and presumably more tolerant, home.
The male pit bull mix, whose name no one seems to know, was left at the Madison County, Tennessee, Rabies Control animal shelter, CNN affiliate WBBJ reported.
According to the irreverent website Gawker, Facebook users had a hissy fit Wednesday when they found out the dog's owner got rid of the animal after he (the dog, not the owner) humped another male dog.
"His owner threw him away (because) he refuses to have a 'gay' dog!" a Facebook user named TN Euthanasia wrote.
The post went semi-viral, with 861 likes, 1,869 comments and 5,048 shares. After Gawker told the rest of the digital world about it, noting that the dog was in imminent danger of being put down, the shelter was swamped with calls offering to adopt the uncloseted canine.
By Thursday morning, shelter workers confirmed to WBBJ that the amorous animal had been adopted by a person associated with a rescue/shelter group.

I just don't see the need for dogs. We don't need more dumb animals all around us. We already have liberals for that.
Dogs are about the best things on this planet. I agree we don't need more liberals, but dogs are smarter than most people.
There is a Black dog syndrome. People are less likely to adopt a black dog. Not because there prejudices but because people prefer a dog with more color or they have a misconception that black dogs tend to be more aggressive.

It's the shedding. Black dog hair in an unsightly pile. White dog hair and you can never wear black pants. Shades of brown, blends in. More a housekeeping and grooming issue of the humans.

I don't believe that is why the owner dumped him I think it was something like allergies or some sort of medical treatment he doesn't want to pay for so he tossed the dog. Heartless SOB

Can't say I wouldn't dump the dog too. But, MOST male dogs do that sometimes as a dominance thing and isn't necessarily related to his "orientation". Nothing here reveals the cause of the behavior

Gawker is an toilet rag of exaggeration and hyper sensationalistic irrationality. The fact that some of their sister publications like Lifehacker have any relevant positive information or data is merely a coincidence.

Not that there's anything wrong with being gay (there isn't), but just because the dog humped another male dog doesn't make the dog gay; alot of animals do that because they want to show dominance or because any port in a storm is a good one.
Does that mean that humans, an animal, try to display dominance by being gay?
