A Catholic hospital in hot water for claiming in a Colorado court that a fetus is not a person backtracked on Monday, saying it was "morally wrong" to make the argument while defending itself in a wrongful death lawsuit.
Analysis of cost and benefit may or may not affect decisions regarding morality.
This Catholic hospital is becoming more pragmatic in its perception of Truth.
YES, NO, MAYBE, I DON'T KNOW? Maybe, just maybe, the hospital, "got the word", from the church, to change their statement or get booted? Wonder what their next defence will be?
@ Big Reggie:
The Roman Catholic Church would agree with you that "abortion is very wrong."
I do not agree with you about the issue of abortion, and I do not agree with the Roman Catholic Church about many of its positions on social behaviour.
For example, I think that allowing Roman priests to marry women would dramatically reduce priests' abuse of altar boys.
How fortunate for the United States of America that it is not run by the Roman Catholic Church!
But Joey, the truth is there is a greater percentage of child abuse among married men than there is in the priesthood. About 7% of males commit such vile acts. It is less than 2% among priests. These are the facts so what say ye now?

It was super hypocritical of this hospital.
What was it then? A machine? I accept that. They forgot to grease a bearing or didn't locate the source of a short circuit? Still is wrongfull death.

Nice theory but nobody gets booted these days. Sounds like your prejudice speaking.

It is not however morally wrong to argue that a lawyer is not a person.
