Illinois Senate passes same-sex marriage measure

The Illinois Senate passed a measure Thursday to legalize same-sex marriage, voting 34-21.

The state House will consider it next. Gov. Pat Quinn, a Democrat, has indicated that he would sign the bill.

Illinois would be the 10th state, plus the District of Columbia, to legalize same-sex marriage, according to Lambda Legal, a gay rights organization.

    Good!
Illinois citizens–especially those in Chicago–are much too sophisticated and aware to be Left Behind.

Don't really feel that gay marriage from civil unions is an important as an issue as civil unions are from nothing, but I'm happy that Illinois legislators did this I guess.

Wish they'd find a way to legally fix the pension problem. Illinois has bigger issues going on right now than moving from civil unions to marriage for the gay community.

I think all straights should have equal rights. Straights are a minority who must be heard!

sad to say our judicial system is broken and our civic laws are no longer a determinant of what is right or wrong...illicit laws always precedes the tyrannical ones...

Aloowing two people to marry is going to directly pave the path to a dictatorship? Oh, my. Better start building the bunker.
