[Updated at 10:52 a.m. ET] Investigators have found evidence that Sandy Hook Elementary School gunman Adam Lanza "was obsessed" with other mass murderers, a source with knowledge of the investigation told CNN Tuesday.
This news follows an earlier report that Lanza may have been motivated by a desire to outdo Anders Behring Breivik, the Norwegian man who killed 77 people in July 2011, law enforcement sources told CBS Evening News.

The unnamed sources said Lanza saw himself as being in direct competition with Breivik, who killed eight with a bombing in downtown Oslo before he moved to a nearby island where he hunted down and fatally shot 69 people.
According to the sources, the 20-year-old Lanza wanted to top Breivik's death toll and went to the Connecticut school on December 14 because it was the "easiest target" and had the "largest cluster of people."

Well this 'poor' boy just wanted to emulate that Norwegian who had massacred 0nly 77 innocent young people.And had gotten away with 20 yrs (make that half with good behaviour)
I know its a light sentence for such a crime.. also the Norwegian police managed to capture him and bring him to trial. Without killing him or burning down the place.
Both white male Christians simply cannot be considered terrorists.

funny how every murder is linked to lack of gun control or blamed on video games. millions of people play video games and the majority dont go out to kill people(in life). and guns cant fire themselves. why do we have to fetch for a reason for these things. the individual is the problem. im sure most murders and criminals live in a building of some type, maybe the inanimate structure made him do it
There's a new study that links violent video games with the propensity for aggression and violence. Google it.
linking somethin in a study is not proof. its another name for a statistic which is usually clouded by the researches tunnel vision on what he/ she would like to find. to base all science on statistics instead of proof and facts is to basing everything on the results of family fued
Problem is with people. However if you can control selling guns to such people, you can do some nonzero good. Cant understand why people don't get such a simple logic
there is a lot of violence going on today and this is far worst then anything I cried for several days and was depressed as well I pray for the childrens family. this is not about obession. its about copy cats

CNN has YET to explain why they used a piece of video footage that was NOT from the Sandy Hook school, but was instead from the St.Rose of Lima School in Newtown, and could NOT have been shot on the same morning – because THE ST.ROSE CLIP WAS SHOT IN LATE AFTERNOON! That means they already HAD the St. Rose clip showing a bunch of brown-uniformed police running toward the building, but used this footage – "stock" or "file" footage, or whatever, without telling the public that it was not real footage from Sandy Hook!
This was aired during the day on 12/14, so the footage in question was shot NO LATER THAN the day BEFORE the shooting. Why did they even have such footage, and why was it used? It is obviously late afternoon footage, as the shadows are very long and point toward the EAST – which means the sun was LOW in the WEST.
