ICE: We're releasing detainees due to cuts

The U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement is releasing "several hundred" people out of U.S. detention facilities to other "less costly" forms of supervision because of potential forced budget cuts set to kick in on Friday, the agency said Tuesday.

This is the worst possible "Washington Monument" ploy! The Administration has ignored the possibility of sequestration for 18 months, and has not taken reasonable steps to live within the reduced budgets. Instead they will try to make the Republicans the scapgoats for this stupidity. The media continues to swallow this propaganda and not perform its resonsibility to uncover the facts and report the truth. I was a Federal official for 30 years, 12 as a Chief Financial Officer, and this crisis is a fabrication to score political points. The president "owns" this mess!

It's not like ICE does anything anyway, let the mexicans go and pay ICE agents $8.00 an hour to build a fence on the border. Problem solved!!!

Lol @ Mary, that was a good one! And @ Hamsta excellent idea. Btw does anyone have any idea how long these people have been *detained*? The reason im asking is because in all actuality they are in prison and have never been tried and convicted of any crime.

Are you all Native American? My people all immigrated here from other countries. No one imprisoned us. And what about the enormous boat lifts of the 80's? How about those Jews? or Irishmen? or Italians?....why the hell is everyone picking on the Mexicans???
This is ridiculous! Its nothing more than another smoke and mirror ploy to distract Americans from the REAL problems this country is facing...namely our crooked government.....come on people, wake up

Unlike all those boat lifts of educated and wealthy Jews, Irishmen and Italians, Mexicans are a real burden. Their brand of Catholic promotes brazen reproduction (within marriage). They are also brown and usually dirty, I dont know why we even allow them to clean our houses.

You were being sarcastic, right? The 3 categories you mentioned were all, in their own time, seen in that negative mindset.

Release from jail all non paying child support dads/moms. Let them try to get jobs to support their children. They are probably the only ones that should be released.
Put the Republicians/Politicians who are ruining/running Our Country, holding all tax paying Americans hostage with not passing laws or a budget. Take money away from POLITICIANS and make THEM pay Social Security, cut THEIR paychecks, cut THEIR healthcare and cut THEIR pensions. FAIR IS FAIR.
