If MLK had been armed, he'd be alive today.

Don't worry. The British army hasn't invaded your territory since 1812. I'm sure you'd be fine even without your guns.

In some state they are proposing firearm insurance. What's next? Pocket knife insurance? We have a crazy person problem here in these crazy states. Not a gun problem. Leave me the hell alone

They can pass all the new gun laws they want it still will not change the crime rate. First of all criminals dont get their guns legally and second the gun laws presently in place are not being enforced. So adding new ones only affects law abiding citizens.

"Law abiding Citizens" shouldn't object to background checks. Gun owners should have to carry an ID...Just like a driver's license and have to renew it every 6 to 10 years...or whatever! Legitimate owners shouldn't object! Damn...we license every thing else!

I don't follow your logic English. There were no guns in the Bible. So we need to get rid of them. And. We need to build a barn?

What this law abiding citizen objects too is the government using someones misery to meet their agenda. They have failed to enforce the laws already in place so more laws will make no difference. The only reason they are pushing this is to get everyones mind off how much they arent doing to fix the economy. Which IMO should be their main focus! And as i said thats my opinion and i have a right to it whether or not any of you agree or dont. I really dont care if you do or not.

By that logic, government should not do ANYTHING else. No foreign policy, no infrastructure spending, no educational reforms, no health reforms. A good government should be able to multi-task.

And shame on them for not reinstating mental health clinics that were discontinued under past admins! That would eliminate alot of the problems today.

They can't. They need to concentrate on the economy. Don't distract them.

My parents used to say, if you can't use something responsibly, you'll lose the privilege. What exactly is wrong with telling people they can't have guns unless they meet the criteria to be a responsible gun owner.

There is nothing wrong with gun laws @ BOMBO. What IS wrong is they pass these laws and then they dont ENFORCE them. So they are wasting time when they could be doing something more useful!

There are a few reasons gun laws aren't enforced. Why hasn't there been a permanent ATF Director named? Hint: check out the NRA's duplicity regarding this issue.

    @ Katman, ;)

A stingy old lawyer who had been diagnosed with a terminal illness was determined to prove wrong the saying, "You can't take it with you."

After much thought and consideration, the old ambulance-chaser finally figured out how to take at least some of his money with him when he died. He instructed his wife to go to the bank and withdraw enough money to fill two pillow cases. He then directed her to take the bags of money to the attic and leave them directly above his bed so that when he died he could grab them on his way to heaven.

Several weeks after the funeral, the deceased lawyer’s wife, up in the attic cleaning, came upon the two forgotten pillow cases stuffed with cash.

"Oh, that darned old fool," she exclaimed. "I knew he should have had me put the money in the basement."
