Obama to attend memorial for victims of Texas plant explosion

In a central Texas town still looking for answers, President Barack Obama will join the community of West on Thursday for a memorial service for the 14 people killed in a fertilizer plant explosion last week.

First lady Michelle Obama will also attend the service at Baylor University in nearby Waco, Texas.

Before leaving Washington, Obama signed a proclamation ordering all flags in the state to be flown at half-staff for the day.

    @Hamsta, don't knock socialism until you at least understand it! Check out the Scandinavian nations, then get back to me about "evil socialism"! We are no where near socialism & it wouldn't work here, but it does work very well for some!!

    rightly said but to equate President Obama with socialism or Islam is something those who couldn't reconcile with his being elected & then re-elected never tire of harping upon.

    Hamsta, those 5 were not shot in a school, they were shot in their own home. The school sign gen free zone was passed in 1990 under Bush I, unsure of why this is such a talking point of yours 23 years after the fact.
