Justices strike part of Ariz. voter law

The Supreme Court on Monday tossed out a provision in Arizona's voter registration law that required proof of citizenship.

The 7-2 majority said the state's voter-approved Proposition 200 interfered with federal law designed to make voter registration easier.

The state called the provision a "sensible precaution" to prevent voter fraud. Civil rights group countered that it added an unconstitutional and burdensome layer of paperwork for tens of thousands of citizens.

To me, it seems reasonable that a voter should be able to prove his citizenship.

Need an ID to buy liquor cigarettes. Why is requiring someone to prove who they are while voting so unreasonable? Seems to me that shoulda been a law in the first place

How do Americans "prove" we are Americans? It's not like we all have a "citizenship" card! Is that where this is going??

No wonder America is going down the toilet. Not much enforcement by the laws and court.

That's nice delete my post and keep the troll's post. Does the troll work for CNN or something? What's wrong CNN? I'm not liberal or politically correct for you? What I said was 100% true if you care to step out of your office and watch what happens in the street in an average city or town in America today.

I'll repeat this: you work at the docks. Docks, airports, trains depots have heightened security. Result of 9/11. No surprise.

If you don't like the level of security at you job, quit. Your remarks about black people and their "sasquatch" babies was blatantly racist. Bringing up Rosa Parks doesn't excuse that. •Every •single security policy in place was put there by the previous administration. TSA was a "backwards" construct of a war mongering POTUS.

Plus, illegal immigrants cannot vote. Democrat OR Republican. Cue "The More You Know" music.

Illegal immigrants DO vote, along with deceased people, felons and prisoners, that's why DEMOCRATS and LIBERALS keep fighting this voter ID requirement, they would lose a large portion of their voter base. Massive voter fraud has been confirmed in the campaign management department of Team Obama.

If you don't want to be considered racist, a you shouldn't write in a racist stereotypical manner and expect not to be called out on it, Hamsta. Saying things like "Shaniqua popping out her sasquatch kids" isn't benign.

There's a difference between being blunt and being a racist bigot. Consult a actual human being for details.
