Syrian rebels reject interim government, embrace Sharia

A collection of some of Syria's most powerful rebel brigades have rejected a Western-backed opposition group that announced the creation of an interim government in exile this month.

The 13 rebel groups, led by the al Qaeda-linked al-Nusra Front, also called on supporters of the Syrian opposition to embrace Sharia law "and make it the sole source of legislation."

The move appeared to sideline the flagging National Syrian Coalition, which recently announced the formation of an interim government in exile led by Ahmad Tomeh, a dentist and dissident from the Syrian city of Deir Ezzor.

@ saywhat, we mustn't forget that our country also aided and abetted these fools! Thanks to Israels prompting of course but still, all the same, we did it too!

    Indeed@chrissy.
To continue, we instead chose to mount full scale invasions and occupation of Iraq & Afghanistan.results speak for themselves.

Pr.Obama is of course to be faulted for continuing with those policies. Libya, Egypt and yemen have been failures. French invasion of Mali has further consolidated AlQaeda links in that region.

Do you liberals really believe we never should have invaded Afghanistan? Let me remind you that we were attacked on 9/11 and more than 3,000 people died. And you liberals would just let that slide? Hello? Is there anyone home? Did you think if we acted like nothing happened that they would go away? It doesn't matter if you don't think this is a holy war, the enemy DOES and if you stand there and do nothing they will attack again and again until YOU live under Sharia law. But then again that's exactly why General Patton said " The lowest form of life is a politician and the lowest politician is a liberal democrat." He also happens to be the very last American General to win a war.

We are talking about Syria. Both sides of the aisle so not wish war in Syria. As Syria has not attacked America, I am unsure as to what you desire out of this situation.

Banasy, it doesn't matter what you want, Shabab is an affiliate of Al Quaeda. You are an infidel, it doesn't matter if you want war with them, they want war with you. Until you realize this you and your liberal friends will only embolden the enemy and lose the war. Go put a burqa on, read your Quran and get used to being nothing more than a housewife, you liberals are determined to bring Sharia to America.

I do not believe I stated what I wanted, but what 90% of Congress and American citizens want. The US cannot attack a nation that has not attacked the US. Syria hasn't. Period.
The rest of your uninformed post does not apply to me, and has been dismissed as nonsensical.

Hold on chrissy, I gotta make a tin foil hat, the conspiracy theories are getting a little thick around here. Almost done.... Okay, yea it's really Bush's fault. Don't you liberal whack jobs ever get tired of blaming Bush with all thes whacked out conspiracies? I 'll give you a simple explanation, Your president is a Socialist or a Communist. Hitler, Mao, Castro, Marx, etc... They all had some whacked out conspiracy theories, it's called PROPOGANDA!

Two words why the conspiracy theory of yours will not happen: term limits. I trust you know what that means, Hamsta?

Germany had term limits before Hitler. What do you think "The ends justify the means" and "Don't let any crisis go to waste" is about? If Obame could declare Martial law he could retain his seat in the White House beyond the term limits. Obame sent Kerry (Jay Leno on crack) to sign the UN small arms treaty without the required Senate review and consent. Obame doesnT care how things are supposed to be done, He even rammed his Healthcare bill that noone wants in the middle of the night behind locked doors so noone could disaprove.

Germany didn't have the U.S. Constitution; it would take an amendment to the Consttution to change the term limits of the President, which was specifically changed to prevent another run like FDR had.

We cannot declare war on a country that has not attacked the US because we don't like their religion, Hamsta. Doing so would give the ME an excuse to attack us, since they DO consider us "infidels".

We could have eliminated this group AlQaeda with a law enforcement kind of surgical and focused covert op. Taliban were then more interested in getting rid of Osama and his cohorts fearing large scale bombings of the population.
When these AlQaeda leaders used to strut around the mountains with cell phones and satellite phones, sending out their proclamations & propaganda.
