Web Pulse: Chuck Norris, Asperger's, Corey Haim

Chuck Norris is celebrating his birthday Wednesday.

Here’s a quick glance at the collective consciousness of the Web on Wednesday:

Chuck Norris: You always know it is going to be a good day when Chuck Norris is a hot topic on Twitter - and this time, it isn't even just the worldwide Internet sensation obsessed with random facts about him. Happy 70th birthday to our favorite roundhouse-kicking, crime-fighting Texas Ranger (who also happens to be one of CNN's most intriguing people today).

Asperger syndrome: You can learn something from TV, at least, that's if Google's trends are any clue. The term "Asperger  syndrome" has been sitting atop the hot list, apparently because of the plotline from NBC's new sitcom "Parenthood." And according to a San Francisco Chronicle blog, the attempt to raise awareness may be because the show's executive producer has a child with Asperger syndrome, and he wanted to portray the disorder as accurately as he can and give people a better understanding of it. Hats off to that producer, because it appears to be working.

#RIPCoreyHaim: The Twitter world is in mourning after news of the death of '80s actor Corey Haim. This morning we reported as news broke that Haim died of a possible drug overdose. You quickly responded by commenting of your love for "The Two Coreys" (Corey Feldman is the other) and began reminiscing about his days as "Lucas" and in "The Lost Boys."

Google apps marketplace: Another day, another Google product on Google Trends. Such is the life of a giant like Google: When you make something, the people take notice, and the people are talking about Google's new app marketplace, which "offers products and services designed for Google users, including installable apps that integrate directly with Google Apps."
