Gabriel Johnson was last seen in San Antonio, Texas, with his mother, Elizabeth Johnson.
A month-long search of a Texas landfill has ended with no signs of 8-month-old Gabriel Johnson, police said Friday.
“This case leaves us with somewhat of a bittersweet conclusion,” said William McManus, chief of the San Antonio Police Department. “The good news is we have no homicide. The bad news is the case is still open.”
McManus said the landfill search, in which 7,620 tons of debris were removed, is now over.
“We found no evidence of a homicide,” he said. He urged anyone with information about the child’s whereabouts to call 1-800-THE LOST.
Gabriel has been missing since December 26 and was last seen in San Antonio, with his 23-year-old mother, Elizabeth Johnson, who has refused to disclose information on his whereabouts.
The mother refuses to disclose information?? Sounds guilty to me....I think she should be tortured until she decides to reveal what she done to her child....seems fair considering they just had to search the landfill for him.....disgusted doesnt even begin to describe this "mother". How funny, there are no family members preaching about how great of a mother she really is...Shocking??
That is just sad that a mother can throw away her own son's life. Even though they haven't turned up anything, the mere fact that she wont reveal what happened to her son to the police is troubling.
I agree with some of you that it is time to put some pressure on this sweet boy's mother. I am all for waterboarding this woman until she confesses. Enough of letting her sit around while his father is going mad searching for him.
It's my understanding that they assumed she would have dumped the baby in a dumpster near the hotel. What if she put him in a dumpster in another location? They only searched the part of the landfill where they think trash from that particular dumpster was dumped. They really should've have searched the landfill early on to search other locations. My concern is that whether the baby is alive or dead, they may never find him. This is so sad. I wish there was some kind of method where they could use to get the information out of her.
I'm not surprised there is no sign of baby Gabriel in the landfill. (Thank God!) I think this baby was too much of a "commodity" to his mother for her to kill him, though not enough of a blessing to her to keep and love him. And I believe her expensive ring (ruby for her birthstone) is the prize she has for payment for him. I heard she turned it over to her grandfather who is now claiming he knows nothing about it. What's that about? I feel fed up with her as a lot of the public does by her silence. I also think whoever has this baby should feel terrible shame for their ill-gotten gain. I hope investigators are working on the "ring" lead and trying to find out where and by whom it was purchased. Surely Elizabeth Johnson acquired it somewhere in TX or in her travels afterwards and there's a jewelry store owner or employee who knows something.
