Yemeni government: Air force targets al Qaeda hideout

The Yemeni air force conducted an airstrike Sunday on a suspected al Qaeda hideout ahead of an "imminent attack," according to Yemen's Ministry of Defense.

The strike targeted a group of suspected militants in the southern Abyan region, the defense ministry said in a statement.

"The group was planning an imminent attack on a strategic installation in retaliation for Yemen's intensified efforts to crack down on the militants," the statement said.

The airstrike comes as part of a widening crackdown on suspected al Qaeda members since the attempted bombing of an American airliner in December. The suspect in the failed bombing, Umar Farouk AbdulMutallab, spent time in Yemen and is said to have acquired the explosive device from someone in that country.

The group al Qaeda in the Arabian Peninsula has claimed responsibility for the plot.

If we could squash out all al Qaeda followers who have nothing else to do but destroy other peoples lives in different countries around the world, we'd all live in a more peaceful place. NATO military forces are going to have to continue searching and finding these scums hideouts. I hope they do it sooner, rather than later. We are all getting sick and tired of al Qaeda.

This article is 100% Pointless All of the other articles on the Internet talk about what is really going on. Why didn't you mention the Star Gate in the Gulf of Yemen. Aaron MCcollum? Thousands of Nasa, Airforce, CIA officials talking about the real things that are going on. As Americans are we supposed to hide the truth too? just because the gov't and media is? Man, you are putting the American People in hard situations. You people are mentally torturing the world. It is wrong to publish, write, post article when you know that they are false. Important things are getting prepared for the Worldly Events that will soon be happening. Quit hiding the important information. P.S, Free Energy was created in 1930. Are we in rewind? Are you serious?

There needs to be more stringent penalties for terrorists when they're caught. They need to stay in prison, if that is their sentence, for over 50 years. They need to be tried for murder which should carry a death sentence. We are too nice to evil, hateful people. Our world full of different people groups can not survive with hatred of one another. We need love and concern. We all have the very same needs. Only working together, can save us of horrific crimes against humanity. God is love and God is Holy. God never tells anyone to murder for hatred's sake. Those who claim to know God should depart evil and hate.

We must do all we can to stop the radical Islamic terrorists from any gains in Somalia and Yemen. We must not let any terrorist group take over any country!

Yemen attacking Al Qaeda, lol!!! since when, they don't even have money to put gas in their jets, Take it from me, the Americans are attacking the Al Qaeda, NOT because they care about the Yemenis, they are concerned that the Al Qaeda will control Yemen, and then move on to control the whole GCC countries, specifically Saudi Arabia and its MASSIVE oil reserve. Go ahead and call me a lunatic!
