Car bomb kills at least 3 in Colombia

A powerful car bomb killed at least four people in Buenaventura, Colombia, and wounded around 20 others Wednesday morning, authorities said.

The explosion occurred in the town center, near City Hall, causing panic and chaos among nearby residents. A local hospital declared a state of emergency, media reported.

Images on CNN affiliate Caracol TV showed mangled vehicles, one with an engine next to it on the sidewalk. Buildings also showed significant damage.

The TV images also showed wounded people being carried off by other residents.

There were no immediate claims of responsibility or a motive.

In Columbia as in other SA countries, one doesn’t need a motive, just go out and kill someone. If I was a betting man, I’d have to put my money (before ovomit gets it) on the drug cartels and their gangs as the perpetrators. That includes Mexico as well.
