Actor Dennis Hopper's health failing, lawyer says

If Dennis Hopper attends the dedication of his star on Hollywood's Walk of Fame Friday, it may be the last time his fans see the actor alive.

Hopper is dying of prostate cancer, according to documents filed in his divorce case this week.

Hopper, 73, is too weak and ill to be questioned by lawyers in the divorce, but attending Friday's ceremony "is a positive experience in every way," his doctor's sworn statement said.

Hopper's lawyer has not confirmed if the actor will attend the ceremony in front of the Egyptian Theater on Hollywood Boulevard, but his doctor is recommending it.

    This is very sad news. I wish Mr. Hopper as much comfort and peace from suffering as possible during what little time he has left in this life. Dennis, You've led a charmed life, and I appreciate all the brilliant work that has entertained me and millions of other people, going as far back as REBEL WITHOUT A CAUSE, and including such milestones as EASY RIDER, APOCALYPSE NOW, and BLUE VELVET. May Your current journey be as peaceful and pain-free as possible, and may your next life be as much fun as this one.
