U.S. warship captures suspected pirate mother ship

The USS Nicholas came under fire from a pirate vessel and then captured it.

A U.S. warship sank a pirate skiff and captured a pirate mother ship in the Indian Ocean on Thursday, according to a statement from U.S. Naval Forces Africa.

The frigate USS Nicholas came under fire from a pirate vessel shortly after midnight in international waters west of the Seychelles, according to a U.S. military statement.

The Nicholas returned fire and pursued the skiff as it fled, capturing it about 90 minutes later. Three suspected pirates aboard the skiff were taken into custody, along with two others aboard a suspected pirate mother ship that was nearby.

    Let's hear it now from the Civil Rights Activists, PETA, all of the usual contrarians.

    A few more like this and maybe the pirates will find better, safer ways to make a living.

    First, good job for our Navy. My question is, what is preventing the Navy form killing those silly criminals?The moment they are captured and left to go the other criminals in somalia will continue knowing that they won't be killed.
    Please as soon as you see the pirates, Just kill them. that is the only way to clear that sea route. TAKE MY WORD!!

    Make sure you read them thier Miranda rights. We do not want them to get off on a technicality. If they do, they may end up w/ asylum, free health care, free schooling, free housing and food assistance.

    this is inexcusable. they are attacking us because they are hungry. We have no business flexing our muscle on the poor prople our country bullies the underpriviledged. Give them food and we wont have to worry about this.
