U.S. warship captures suspected pirate mother ship
The USS Nicholas came under fire from a pirate vessel and then captured it.
A U.S. warship sank a pirate skiff and captured a pirate mother ship in the Indian Ocean on Thursday, according to a statement from U.S. Naval Forces Africa.
The frigate USS Nicholas came under fire from a pirate vessel shortly after midnight in international waters west of the Seychelles, according to a U.S. military statement.
The Nicholas returned fire and pursued the skiff as it fled, capturing it about 90 minutes later. Three suspected pirates aboard the skiff were taken into custody, along with two others aboard a suspected pirate mother ship that was nearby.
This has to be an April Fool's joke, nobody is that dumb.
Dear Rick could you please let us know how many pirate ships did Bush sunk, or how many pirates he captured?
It's been surprising to me no naval aircraft have been used all along to shoot these pirate-skiffs out of the water every time. It seems piracy has been accepted. !
Must not be the sharpest tool in the shed to fire on a US Navy Vessel.

Maybe, JUST MAYBE, they mistook the ship for some kind of commercial vessel, after all, I take it that it was night being just after midnight. If that was the case, imagine the surprise whenn the USS Nicholas responded with great big boomsticks of their own.
My firm belief is IF you live a life of crime, no matter how desperate you are, you should be ready to suffer consequences! Once they captured ALL those pirates, they should cut off a limb (arm or leg) & then drop them in the ocean. If they don't die of shock, then they will die by sharks. NO EXCEPTION OF HOW OLD THESE PIRATES ARE!

They were fisherman that were acting to protect their waters from foreign trawlers that were depleting their resources in the absence of a government. They went too far and criminalized themselces for easy money. It is a shame that it all started because the international community failed to come to their aid when they needed it. I'll bet if they had nuclear weapons or oil resources we would have helped them. They are uneducated and oblivious as to the consequences of their behavior. This is an international disgrace and instead of understanding and compassion to their plight with some type of international response and resolution, they receive hatred and criticism and we call ourselves a "Christian" nation. WWJD?? I am an informed US American. Who are you??
