AG: Medical board to take action against Conrad Murray

The California Medical Board will start its own process to strip Dr. Conrad Murray of his medical license, state Attorney General Jerry Brown said Tuesday.

A judge delayed until June the medical board's request to suspend Murray's license as a condition of his bond on a charge in the death of Michael Jackson.

Brown wrote in a court filing last month that Murray's treatment of Jackson "demonstrated a serious lack of judgment that should prohibit him from practicing medicine."

murray was more of drug dealer than a doctor...... unlike a drug dealer he knew what was in the drug and what it could do to you........ he should be stripped from his liscense and sent to prison for a long time! he killed the king of pop! even if mj asked for the drugs he shouldnt have gave it to him..... alls he cared about was the money! he should go to prison for the rest of his life! R.I.P MICHAEL JACKSON 1958- FOREVER!

There are MANY doctors who don't understand addiction. The fact remains that Michael Jackson took the drugs. He knew he was an addict. Why didn't he try to help himself? He bears the ultimate responsibility, I used to work weekends in a pharmacy. It would be difficult not to conclude that doctors have little or no training/education on addiction and addictive drugs.

It's about time. Whether he is criminally liable or not, a patient died under his care, and he was clearly violating the guidelines for using these dangerous medications. At the very least, he should no longer be allowed to practice medicine anymore. Do we want him to kill someone else? Even if this was a simple accident (which I doubt, I think he was knowingly careless, to put it mildly)

I cannot believe it has taken this long to start this process. At least they should have done a temporary revocation based on the coroners report until a complete investigation was completed.

Does this mean he cannot practice medicine anywhere or just in California? This article is incomplete.

Just because a person is a doctor does not mean that they are a good one. This is a very serious situation. If you are going to harm people, you do not need to practice medicine.

That is the way it should be. He should have his license removed for poor judgement. Why would anyone let someone continue practicing after illegally using those kind of drugs? Just so he can pay for his defense? Are you kidding?

It's about time, despite what opinions people may hold of the late Michael Jackson, he was first a human being, and was loved by his family especially his children. It does not matter what transpired previuosly in his life, at the end of the day, Conrad Murray was negligent in administering propofol to him. I suffer with insomnia and it can be very debilitating, and sometimes one would want to try anything just to get some sleep. I can really relate to what MJ was going through and Conrad Murray's responsibility should have been to get him the professional help that he needed, not to put MJ's life at risk just to collect a big check.

I am overjoyed that they are doing this!! I work for 6 cardiologists and believe me, Murray should not be allowed to have his license!!! He is obviously guilty of killing
Michael! Justice for Michael and his 3 precious children–Prince, Paris and Blanket!!!

Thank you Jerry Brown & Ca Medical Board; I am a RN/CM and Micheal had a medical condition Insomnia; however, Dr.Murray did not provide him reasonable prudent care that a physician should have provided for a patient. Dr. Murray's conduct as a physician is the issue here. I have worked with 1000s of physicians in my 25 plus years as a nurse and I have never seen this level of liability and disregard for life and the process of providing individual the opportunity for optimal health, healing, and wholeness!

Michael Jackson lost his life, and Conrad Murder should lose his license. It would be different if Murray made a medical mistake and took responsibility for it. He continues to lie, cover up and withheld pertinent information in the death of Michael Jackson which leads me to believe that he is guilty of 2nd degree murder.
