No charges in Roethlisberger case

Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback Ben Roethlisberger will not face criminal charges, a Georgia district attorney said Monday.

Roethlisberger was accused last month of sexually assaulting a 20-year-old woman at a Milledgeville, Georgia, nightspot.

"The sexual allegation against Mr. Roethlisberger cannot be proven beyond a reasonable doubt," said Ocmulgee Judicial Circuit District Attorney Fred Bright. "Therefore, there will be no arrest made, nor criminal prosecution of Mr. Roethlisberger for his actions here on March 5, 2010."

Big Ben needs to select his hang outs a little more closely and he needs to watch his actions. I am a huge Steeler fan BUT can't excuse the fact that he has been accused 2 times of sexual misconduction against women. As a female it bothers me that he keeps getting himself in such messes. Grow up been Ben and act your age not your uniform number!!!

Of course there would be no trial, no DNA, no hospital report. Makes one think that nothing happened. Just a pissed off broad because Ben told her to get lost.

It appears to me that Ben Roethlisberger is a predator. Young women should avoid him. Where there is smoke (at least twice), there is fire. Why would his bodyguard lead the young woman to a bathroom? Her friends were there to take her if she needed help. Mr. Roethlisberger had no business following her. Both of her statements make clear that it was not a rendezvous the two of them set up together. He followed her to take advantage of her. If he keeps it up, there will be enough evidence to prosecute him at some point. He needs to stop while he's ahead. In the meantime, women would be wise to avoid this man.

Ben is the 100 MILLION $ face of the NFL. no charges, no fine. So what else is new/? He should seek help because the next time he will not be so lucky. OH yea, there will be a next time. Once gotten away, twice gotten away, then it becomes a thrill, i. e, catch him if you can.

I don't think there is any doubt he had contact with the victim. What sunk this case is a lack of a DNA profile and the victim's story which evolved as she became sober. It was his birthday and he wanted some action. A 28 year old needs to find an older woman.

I guess he would have had to sexually assault a dog in order to get charged with a crime. Vick had it wrong – he should have been making women fight!

Kobe Bryant, Tiger Woods, Ben Roethlisberger, etc., etc. etc. are the future of professional sports. When you make millions of dollars, you can afford to pay attorneys and judges. Why do the police even bother interviewing these guys?

My cause is that Big Ben bought her off. Look at what happened to
Kobe Bryant. Dropped the charges and filed a civil suit that was
settled out of court. Stand by for more

When are these sexual allegations/molestations against high-profile celebrities/athletes going to stop. How come it is innocent until proven guilty with the general public but guilty until proven innocent with high-profile celebrities/athletes!! Just because they are rich and famous, they are automatically guilty. They live in the same America that I live in; therefore, they should be alloted the same laws.

Man, people sure love to pass judgement without knowing any of the facts. If you could get thrown in jail for hearsay, we'd all be locked up. Her word against his does not exactly go beyond a reasonable doubt. He may be lying, she may be lying – who knows? That's what evidence is for.

she's a gold digger. I am amazed how fast this was put to rest. I have a friend who was falsely accused by a female. It took over a year and a 2nd mortage to clear his name.

This accusation was not for 15 minutes of fame!!! If so, where is her TV show? Where is her is name? Or her high power attorney? The only thing victims gain (as a victim myself) is embarrasament and finger pointing by ignorants! This is sick.
