Obama to eulogize 29 lost miners

President Barack Obama and Vice President Joe Biden will travel to West Virginia Sunday for a memorial service for the 29 miners who perished at Upper Branch mine, the White House Press spokesman said Monday.

Obama will deliver a eulogy at the memorial "honoring the lives of those who perished and offering his deepest condolences to the loved ones they left behind," Robert Gibbs said in a statement. Last week, Obama ordered a review of mines with poor safety.

I'm proud of you, Mr. President, for taking this moment to show how much you care about is. RIP to all the brave miners from WVA.

I only lament that it is not going to take even 24 hrs for the extreme right to demonize this visit.

My deepest sympathies to the families in WV. I pray that lawmakers will finally, now, do something to keep this from happening again. There are "acts of God" over which we have no control, but, "acts of "Massey, "Blankenship and MSHA" –we certainly do have control over..and much more is needed.
Thank you Mr. President for coming for this memorial. It IS appreciated.

I live in the unincorporated community of Shady Spring, West Virginia, and near the tragedy of the 29 miners.
I support Pres. Obama 100% and I am very glad that he and VP Biden will come, non-politically, and pay homage to our lost men.
Our community has suffered because of the smallness, the pain has been felt by all.
My sincere thanks to our Chief Executive and his Second in Command for this visit.

This is one of the reasons why I voted for President Obama because he is the kind of Human that shows he not only wants to be a great Leader he wants to lead by exsample. President Bush would have NEVER done this... I am very Proud of our current President this is a GREAT look for America. My Prayers go out to the families for there Lost.
