Security Brief: Radical Islamic Web site takes on 'South Park'
"South Park" showed the Prophet Mohammed disguised in a bear suit.
The radical Islamic Web site Revolutionmuslim.com is going after the creators of the TV cartoon series "South Park" after an episode last week included an image of the Prophet Mohammed in disguise.
Revolutionmuslim.com, based in New York, was the subject of a CNN investigation last year for its radical rhetoric supporting “jihad” against the West and praising al Qaeda leader Osama bin Laden. Its organizers insist they act within the law and seek to protect Islam.
On Sunday, Revolutionmuslim.com posted an entry that included a warning to South Park creators Trey Parker and Matt Stone that they risk violent retribution – after the 200th episode last week included a satirical discussion about whether an image of the prophet could be shown. In the end, he is portrayed disguised in a bear suit.
The posting on Revolutionmuslim.com says: “We have to warn Matt and Trey that what they are doing is stupid and they will probably wind up like Theo Van Gogh for airing this show. This is not a threat, but a warning of the reality of what will likely happen to them.”
Theo van Gogh was a Dutch filmmaker who was murdered by an Islamic extremist in 2004 after making a short documentary on violence against women in some Islamic societies. The posting on Revolutionmuslim.com features a graphic photograph of Van Gogh with his throat cut and a dagger in his chest.
The entry on Revolutionmuslim.com goes on to advise readers:
“You can contact them [the makers of South Park], or pay Comedy Central or their own company a visit at these addresses …” before listing Comedy Central’s New York address, and the Los Angeles, California, address of Parker and Sloane’s production company.
Contacted by CNN, the author of the post, Abu Talhah al Amrikee, said that providing the addresses was not intended as a threat to the creators of South Park but to give people the opportunity to protest.
Over still photographs of Parker, Stone, van Gogh and others, the Web site runs audio of a sermon by the radical U.S.-born preacher Anwar al-Awlaki, who is now in hiding in Yemen. The sermon, recorded some time ago, talks about assassinating those who have “defamed” the Prophet Mohammed – citing one religious authority as saying “Harming Allah and his messenger is a reason to encourage Muslims to kill whoever does that.” U.S. officials say al-Awlaki is on a list of al Qaeda leaders targeted for capture or assassination.
The clip ends with a warning on a graphic directed at Parker and Stone, saying “The Dust Will Never Settle Down.”
Al Amrikee said the purpose of including the al-Awlaki sermon in his posting was to remind Muslims that insulting the prophet is a severe offense for which the punishment in Islam is death. He said RevolutionMuslim may hold protests about the show.
Calls to Comedy Central were not returned.

This is yet another sign of the Islamist goal of suppressing our freedom of expression. Sorry you transplant from a desert, there is nothing in OUR constitution protecting a group from being offended.
This is just really kind of odd to me. How can an organization that openly disagrees with our constitution and beliefs hide behind our first amendment? Plus, they didn't even show the prophet...they showed him in a costume, purposefully making fun of the fact that Muslim's get so wound up over the matter. I say, "no harm, no foul". But providing addresses to these places with a "warning" of physical harm. That is unacceptable. If these groups want to truly stand up for their beleifs, don't let them hide behind ours.
It sounds more like a life threatening statement – threatening the lives of the producers of South Park. When they made the comment about Theo Van Gogh, they don't realize, that as they enjoy the fruits of the labors of the people, to speak freely, they too are invoking their right to free speech, but it sounds like its becoming hate speech. So they are equally guilty of hate and bigotry as anyone else in the world. I don't see that Islam is any better than Santa Muerta, Voodoo, or any other purported cult like "religion" that incites war. I am not a member of "The Church" because I for one am sick of the wars over religion. It makes no sense to be so sensitive over a religion to kill or die for. And that's all I am seeing – Islam is to kill or die for. What a waste of LIFE!
How much more proof do we need that these people are barbaric? I hope that this threat to Parker and Stone are investigated promptly by the government, and these clowns are put away.
This message requires that Americans respond with alacrity to this religion of peace, with a peaceful comment in turn. If anything untoward happens to Americans commenting on a dangerous cult with humor, the return on investement to challengers of truth and justice should be canonically be disgraced as acts of cowardice, and any person who harms people in America, whether through mitigated threats and published addresses, should be shown to be the muderous cutthroat scum of the earth that they have truly shown themselves to be. Unmitigated gall would be the appropriate response to cowards, and shown love and respect that Americans have to all faiths.

Are these people serious? I mean really, how do they know the prophet is really in that suit? It might be Bigfoot, Jimmy Hoffa, E.T., the abominable snowman or an elephant for all they know.
They all but threaten someone's life over a cartoon? And we should take them seriously, and NOT believe that Muslim= terrorist? I bet the Koran doesn't say anything about "Thou shalt not dress the prophet in a bear suit in your satirical cartoon" UGH. Take away their angry card would ya? They might protest? Really?? I mean you are upset about this episode. They literally had the profit in full visble form as a person with super hero powers in a previous episode before this was all a big deal and nobody said anything about it. But now you are suddenly upset about a bear costume containing the prophet? Really???

this is exactly what the episode was making fun of. the over reaction of insecure radical Muslims. and its incredibly true.
