Mexico issues advisory for Arizona

Mexico's Foreign Ministry on Tuesday issued an advisory to Mexicans living and working in Arizona following the signing of a controversial law to stem illegal immigration in that state.

In Arizona "there is a negative political environment for migrant communities and for all Mexican visitors," the advisory states.

The new law requires Arizona police to determine whether people are in the United States legally if there is a reason to suspect they aren't.

Although the new law doesn't go into effect until 90 days after the close of the state's legislative session, the Mexican government advised its citizens in Arizona to begin carrying all immigration documents with them immediately "to avoid needless confrontations."

Arizona Gov. Jan Brewer, a Republican, signed the controversial legislation into law Friday. Supporters say it is needed to control illegal immigration.

The advisory points Mexicans in Arizona to the state's five Mexican consulates for legal advice if they feel they have been subjected to abuse by authorities.

"As long as no clear criteria are defined for when, where and who the authorities will inspect, it must be assumed that every Mexican citizen may be harassed and questioned without further cause at any time," the advisory states.

I guess Americans are wanting jobs like: dishwashers, farm pickers, etc. R-I-G-H-T us Americans don't want those jobs. Who else do you think will take those jobs. As long as they pay taxes and don't commit crimes then what's the biig deal. Americans commit those crimes everyday. Shall we talk about the Investment Companies that stole all of our MONEY! Yes, our AMERICAN INVESTMENT COMPANIES. And besides "AMERICA", means people of all races & color.

This law has EXTREME abuse potential against US citizens. If you're an american citizen who LOOKS mexican and don't have your drivers license on you, you could be arrested until they determine you ARE legal? That is unconstitutional to have to carry identification for US citizens to prove who we are. Because I LOOK darker, I could be thrown in jail for walking down the street for wearing swimming trunks and no wallet, because the cop was irritated and SAID I looked mexican? Screw that. That's not the America I swore to protect and defend. This law is unconstitutional to LEGAL, born US citizens, it has nothing to do with the mexicans. I was born here. I served this country. I shouldn't have to prove that just because I have darker skin.

The fourth amendment: "The right of the people to be secure in their persons, houses, papers, and effects, against unreasonable searches and seizures, shall not be violated, and no Warrants shall issue, but upon probable cause, supported by Oath or affirmation, and particularly describing the place to be searched, and the persons or things to be seized."

At the very least can we all admit that the Arizona law is clearly not in the spirit of the fourth amendment. How would all you white people like it if you were pulled over every time you drove your car and every time you saw a cop you had to show him your ID.

America has a long history of hating immigrants which is all the more ironic when you consider that we, more than any other country in the world, are a nation of immigrants. This is America not a fraternity can we please stop hazing every new group of people who seeks a better life here.

I believe the political problem is only for ILLEGAL migrant communities. Subtle point, I guess.

If they are here legally, they have nothing to worry about. If not check yourselves and prepare for a free ticket back home!

YEAHHHHHHHH Arizona! It's about time one of the states had the balls to put a law into effect. We know the government isn't going to do anything about it! They watched as a farmer got shot on his own property! If the government said all Americans should carry and be ready to show their passport for security purposes, I wouldn't mind at all. The only people crying are those illegals, so it's ok for them to snub the law of our land? We Americans are tired and fed up! If you don't like our laws....GET THE HELL OUT OF OUR COUNTRY!
