Mexico issues advisory for Arizona

Mexico's Foreign Ministry on Tuesday issued an advisory to Mexicans living and working in Arizona following the signing of a controversial law to stem illegal immigration in that state.

In Arizona "there is a negative political environment for migrant communities and for all Mexican visitors," the advisory states.

The new law requires Arizona police to determine whether people are in the United States legally if there is a reason to suspect they aren't.

Although the new law doesn't go into effect until 90 days after the close of the state's legislative session, the Mexican government advised its citizens in Arizona to begin carrying all immigration documents with them immediately "to avoid needless confrontations."

Arizona Gov. Jan Brewer, a Republican, signed the controversial legislation into law Friday. Supporters say it is needed to control illegal immigration.

The advisory points Mexicans in Arizona to the state's five Mexican consulates for legal advice if they feel they have been subjected to abuse by authorities.

"As long as no clear criteria are defined for when, where and who the authorities will inspect, it must be assumed that every Mexican citizen may be harassed and questioned without further cause at any time," the advisory states.

Hey! Buzz Lighyear – get a job, move out of your mothers house, bum a spell check program from a smoke shop friend, shave your hairy palms and TRY to find a REAL girlfriend. You have way too much time on your handout hands.

80 years ago They said the Irish brought crime in Boston.....they said the Italians were ruining NYC....they said the Polish were devastating Chicago....this is the oldest trick in the book. Nothing new here..... "Blame the immigrants will destroy America" talk has been going on for a hundred years blah blah blah Haven't we learned anything?

Seriously people, if you think this is a simple as a an ethnic group coming into a country illegally you are seeing only a small fraction of the big picture.

Do you really think the rest of America is going to go to work for the food industry packing meat, picking strawberries, working for less than minimum wage?

If you do your dillusional, doubly so if you think all the cheat prices we've come to expect in our super markets will remain cheap if suddenly the people making our food suddenly have constitutional rights and can't simply be sent back to their country of origin by ICE.

I don't have any problems with their new law. I just won't go on vacation in that state ever again. I have gone to Sedona, the Grand Canyon and was planning another trip this year. I will to look to visit New Mexico instead.

Mexicans are not the only illegal immigrants in this country. But most illegal immigrants came from Mexico. So mexican, if you walk like a duck, sound like a duck, you must be a duck.

Maybe we should make everyone, legal or natural born carry, their papers – I.E. Passport, green card, Visa, birth certificate, etc. That way every one would be checked. The problem is that it would be considered harrasment if it is done to a citizen. The question you have to ask is are you worthy of being a citizen, whant have you done to earn the right? After all this country was founded by immigrants looking for a better life. These immigrants are taking jobs that most unemployed US citizens would not even consider.

Let's face it: If Mexicans didn't suck so bad, we'd welcome them with open arms.

If you have any sort of tan, make sure you don't forget your license. You may just find yourself being deported. What's curious is what types of documents they plan to check. Does this mean all AZ citizens have to carry their birth certs? Will a license suffice? Will they profile white's as well? I mean, there are illegals here from Europe as well. How about blacks? Guess they will just have to profile everybody wont they. Good luck to you AZ citizens having to deal with the immigration gestapo and dealing with the inconveniences!

Think of the hispanic person visiting Arizona from another state, who travels with their birth certificate, in fact it is really safer to not have such documents on you in case of robbery or if you need new ID, etc. Dumb law that will will cost crazy amounts of money both due to legal actions and enforcement.
