Mexico issues advisory for Arizona

Mexico's Foreign Ministry on Tuesday issued an advisory to Mexicans living and working in Arizona following the signing of a controversial law to stem illegal immigration in that state.

In Arizona "there is a negative political environment for migrant communities and for all Mexican visitors," the advisory states.

The new law requires Arizona police to determine whether people are in the United States legally if there is a reason to suspect they aren't.

Although the new law doesn't go into effect until 90 days after the close of the state's legislative session, the Mexican government advised its citizens in Arizona to begin carrying all immigration documents with them immediately "to avoid needless confrontations."

Arizona Gov. Jan Brewer, a Republican, signed the controversial legislation into law Friday. Supporters say it is needed to control illegal immigration.

The advisory points Mexicans in Arizona to the state's five Mexican consulates for legal advice if they feel they have been subjected to abuse by authorities.

"As long as no clear criteria are defined for when, where and who the authorities will inspect, it must be assumed that every Mexican citizen may be harassed and questioned without further cause at any time," the advisory states.

Nothing racial about it. This law applies to ALL illegal aliens regardless of what country they are from. Here's a clue for the illegal mexicans: learn ENGLISH

This is showing how racist Arizona is. Everyone here is pointing solely to the Mexican people. Is the law going to target just Mexicans and people of color? There are plenty of illegal immigrants in this country that are of white complextion.
Hey white folks, don't go out and get a tan and not have your papers with you!
Isn't it funny how you want to be of color but still want to be white and consider yourselves an american.

ALL ILLEGALS need to go back from whence they came.

    The LAW is the Law

Either we are a country of LAWS or we are not as it appears that Obama is trying to turn us into.

I HAVE A BETTER ONE. LETS POST SIGNS STATING DANGEROUS, OPEN SHOOTING RANGE AND PUT AUTOMATIC GUNS ON THE BORDERS EDGE. IF THEY CAN'T READ THEY'LL SOON FIGURE IT OUT THAT THEY SHOULD IMMIGRATE LEGALLY OR ELSE.

We (Northern States) need to do something about those CANADIANS too. Might as well be fair, eh?

nice FAKE message Manny – IF YOU EARN MINIMUM WAGE, you pay NO FEDERAL INCOME TAX – but you do have FICA deductions for Social security and Medicare – since illegals are never goning to collect social security or Medicare (they are not going to retire here – we get to keep their money - illegals do pay sales tax

European immigration in the 1900's, 20's and 30's was about the same as hispanic LEGAL immigration today

WE ALLOW AS MANY LEGAL HISPANICS PER YEAR AS WE EVER DID EUROPEANS

THE PROBLEM WITH THIS LAW IS THAT THE NEW LAW ENCOURAGES THE POLICE TO HASSLE PEOPLE WHO "LOOK" ILLEGAL – most of the time legals are going to be hassled

DON'T FORGET ARIZONA WAS MEXICO – WE STOLE IT IN A WAR – SPANISH IS THE DOMINANT LANGUAGE – we fought Mexico because they did not have the MORALS to let the Texans own slaves

Awesome! I hope that this is done all along the border. When I was stationed in Europe in the Army we had to provide our papers on order. In fact, my friends and I wandered into an apparently drug-heavy neighborhood in Paris and were frisked by police, questioned, and our paperwork authenticated and we had done nothing wrong. I didn't mind. If I have nothing to hide, then so be it. Too many people fail to realize that it may not be JUST some young Mexican kids coming across to take our jobs...it could just as easily be terrorists.

Sally Sue Smith and Billy Bob Barker don't have to carry their US birth certificates. Their dirvers licenses and/or State ID cards confirm their citizenship. The same is true of any Mexican who is asked for license/ID. No birth certificate necessary.

I can see that this law has brought out the "best" in some people, it's strange that so many people are so racist, some of the comments even mention getting rid of all Mexicans period legal or illegal, I wonder if every single one of these people are so vocal at work, with the neighbors, at the gym, there are certainly a lot of closeted racists out there.

Mexico could help us out by warning their citizens not to enter the U.S. illegally, then the Arizona laws wouldn't be necessary. We are criticized for looking out for our citizens first and foremost. Why aren't Latinos criticizing their own government? It appears Mexioc does'nt make much of an effort to aid their own citizens, they expect the U.S. to do it for them. Mexcio doesn't want them yet they critices the U.S. for not wanting "illegal immigrants". What's Mexcio doing for their own citizens? Latinos should be down in Mexcio demonstrating against a gov't that doesn't provide for them. Oh, I know why. They aren't allowed to do that in Mexcio, Does that make Mexican politicians Neo-Nazis also?
