Mexico issues advisory for Arizona

Mexico's Foreign Ministry on Tuesday issued an advisory to Mexicans living and working in Arizona following the signing of a controversial law to stem illegal immigration in that state.

In Arizona "there is a negative political environment for migrant communities and for all Mexican visitors," the advisory states.

The new law requires Arizona police to determine whether people are in the United States legally if there is a reason to suspect they aren't.

Although the new law doesn't go into effect until 90 days after the close of the state's legislative session, the Mexican government advised its citizens in Arizona to begin carrying all immigration documents with them immediately "to avoid needless confrontations."

Arizona Gov. Jan Brewer, a Republican, signed the controversial legislation into law Friday. Supporters say it is needed to control illegal immigration.

The advisory points Mexicans in Arizona to the state's five Mexican consulates for legal advice if they feel they have been subjected to abuse by authorities.

"As long as no clear criteria are defined for when, where and who the authorities will inspect, it must be assumed that every Mexican citizen may be harassed and questioned without further cause at any time," the advisory states.

    Buy anything from Arizona;
Awesome comment. However, it will only garnish inflammatory reverse racist comments.
Pointing out the obvious to liberals only ramps them up into an uncontrolled name-calling frenzy, for lack of adequate repertoire. Once they start calling you names, they lose the argument easily. Too bad, it is simply "pearls before swine", so to speak. My hat is off to you! Doc

The big deal is being profiled because of the color of your skin or how you appear. The cops are not stopping white people to see if they are legal, even though they could be illegal from Russia. No difference. Lets make a law that bars people who practice a religion of any kind from politics. That would truly separate church from state, and make way more sense than the AZ law.

It's funny how so many people here are bringing up the issue of identification. "What if they think my license is fake" Are you that stupid? I haven't met one illegal immigrant that carried any sort of ID on them. They keep their original Mexico documents in a drawer next to their money that they can't put in a bank account, since they aren't legal. They drive around unlicensed and prepare for their cars to be impounded when they are caught. They then take their hoard of cash and buy another car off some other Mexican and back on the road they are. They know that right now they can commit all the crimes they want and it's a simple game of catch and release. It's funny because they know it and laugh about it. They tell me first hand, not like we care because we can hire them for next to nothing but still. Just because there is a blanket law that allows the police to check for citizenship identification when someone is suspected of a crime doesn't mean that they would just randomly pull people over based on skin color. And even so the law doesn't say that these people would actually be deported. It will just be another catch and release with someone to count the percentages and say well you see? We actually did something here, it's just that we accomplished nothing. Let get some high-speed trains running along the International mega freeways and ship these illegal immigrants back home, now that would be a solution worthy enough to cry over.

I CARRIED MY DRAFT AND SS CARD FOR YEARS AND I STILL CARRY MY DRIVERS LICENSE SO WHAT IS THE PROBLEM? IT IS BECAUSE THE LAW ENFORCEMENT WILL BE ABLE TO FIGURE OUT WHO IS LEGAL RIGHT AWAY. AND THE TRANSPORTERS AND EMPLOYERS AND MAYBE SOME OF OUR POLITICIANS AND AND AND AND, ETC. WILL NOT HAVE ANY EXCUSES.

IF IT WALKS LIKE DUCK, LOOKS LIKE A DUCK, AND QUACKS LIKE A DUCK, DO YOU REALLY THINK WE SHOULD STOP ANYONE WITH BLUE EYES?

HAVE A BETTER IDEA. LETS STOP ALL THE WHITE HONKEYS "LIKE ME" AND ASK FOR THEIR ID AND ARREST THE OTHERS BECAUSE THEY THINK IT IS BENEATH THEM TO CARRY IT OR SHOW IT.
IF IT WALKS LIKE DUCK, LOOKS LIKE A DUCK, AND QUACKS LIKE A DUCK, DO YOU REALLY THINK WE SHOULD STOP ANYONE WITH BLUE EYES

I HAVE A BETTER ONE. LETS POST SIGNS STATING DANGEROUS, OPEN SHOOTING RANGE AND PUT AUTOMATIC GUNS ON THE BORDERS EDGE.

The problem lies in the fact that here in America, anyone can claim and receive numerous welfare funds, or government assistance and funds to help anyone that asks for it. Mexico and many other countries are seriously corrupt and the average citizen is treated like dirt and can not even hope for a decent enough job to pay for their bills. The people down there are frantically trying to get out and get help. Now with the new medical bill becoming law, anyone with a medical problem can come here and get free medical, and free welfare, nicely paid for by U.S. taxpayers. They are not coming here to work and pay their own way, they're coming here to get some money and send it back home. Life is not so great back in their own countries, and that's why they are leaving by the millions. I don't blame them for wanting to come here, but I'm taxed enough and don't want to pay for their way any longer. I live in Miami where more Spanish is heard than English. It's hard to get a job unless you're Spanish. And it seems that most that I know, work off the books to prevent them from paying any taxes. I don't want to be mean, but I say close the borders for a while until the Government gets a handle on this.

I'm so tired of the morons who don't bother to read. Governor Brewer stated clearly that racial profiling would not be tolerated and that police would be trained on what constitutes as a "probable cause". To put it plain and simple, YOU CANNOT BE STOPPED JUST FOR BEING HISPANIC. However, if you get pulled over for speeding or running a red light, the police officer has every right to ask for proper identification. This does not mean that an American citizen has to carry around their "papers". I don't know anyone dumb enough to keep their Social Security card in their wallet or glove box. I mean, Arizona is the #1 state for identity theft after all, however it's safe to assume that most of us on the road would have our driver's licenses and insurance cards, at the very least. In addition, police officers do have other means of verifying a person's identity, so the reality of the situation is that if you ARE NOT an illegal immigrant, you have nothing to worry about. You ARE NOT going to get pulled over or stopped for being Hispanic, and police officers cannot "harass" you for it, either. Quit being idiots and educate yourselves before making such stupid comments.

Please, lets not blame Obama for this. George Bush and his completely inept foreign policy wanted to just have whole sale amnesty program and let everybody in. Republicans are just as much to blame.

Hummm? If you deport all the elligals, what will happen to social security and medicare? They pay in, as it's taken out of their paychecks every pay day. Illegals cannot apply for SS or medicare, so the money is used by legal Americans. Will there big a bigger deficit?

    PARTS OF MEXICO'S IMMIGRATION LAWS

–Article 9: Only citizens can take part in political affairs of the country or are allowed
to assemble for any lawful purpose. [Citizenship can only be obtained by birth or
naturalization] We could not take to the streets like they are

–Article 27: Only Mexicans by birth or naturalization and Mexican companies have the
right to acquire ownership of lands and waters

–Article 32: All things being equal, Mexicans shall have priority over foreigners under all classes of concessions and for all employment, positions, or commissions of the Government. Also states, “In times of peace no foreigner can serve in the Army,
the police or public security forces. In order to belong to the Navy or Air Force, it is
required to be a Mexican by birth.” (And they say we discriminate and/or are racist)

–Article 33: Foreigners may not in any way participate in the political affairs of the country. The Federal Executive shall have the exclusive power to make foreigners leave if their presence is not seem as “in the interest of the Republic”. (Even Mexico’s president is interferes in American policy)

–A: 120 Governors of the States are required to publish and enforce federal laws.

–A: 130 Ministers of denominations may never criticize the fundamental laws of the country or the authorities of the Government, specifically or generally. (So much for pro immigrant Catholic priest)

There is even something in there that talks about not allowed the Mexican identity to be changed by the influx of citizens from other countries.
