Mexico issues advisory for Arizona

Mexico's Foreign Ministry on Tuesday issued an advisory to Mexicans living and working in Arizona following the signing of a controversial law to stem illegal immigration in that state.

In Arizona "there is a negative political environment for migrant communities and for all Mexican visitors," the advisory states.

The new law requires Arizona police to determine whether people are in the United States legally if there is a reason to suspect they aren't.

Although the new law doesn't go into effect until 90 days after the close of the state's legislative session, the Mexican government advised its citizens in Arizona to begin carrying all immigration documents with them immediately "to avoid needless confrontations."

Arizona Gov. Jan Brewer, a Republican, signed the controversial legislation into law Friday. Supporters say it is needed to control illegal immigration.

The advisory points Mexicans in Arizona to the state's five Mexican consulates for legal advice if they feel they have been subjected to abuse by authorities.

"As long as no clear criteria are defined for when, where and who the authorities will inspect, it must be assumed that every Mexican citizen may be harassed and questioned without further cause at any time," the advisory states.

The one thing that has really bothered me about this new law, is that so many people and many of them are politicians have been criticizing the Governor of Arizona for passing this law. News and Politicians have been spouting that they should listen to the people about how this law is upsetting them. When did Pres.Obama, Nancy Pelosi and othe politicians listen to the people over health care? Any person or groups of people who opposed the health care bill were called Nazi's ,Card Carrying Communists, and alluded to being plain out white trash for doing so. No one listened to them and no one wanted to take a correct count of just how many people disagreed with this bill, but it was done anyway. And 2 days after Arizona passes their bill, now all of a sudden the politicians want to listen to the people. The only problem is, that it is the Illegal people protesting, and this is who is being listened too. I am at a loss as to By all means lawmakers listen to the people who have no constitutional rights in this country due to the fact that they are not suppose to be here, and continue to ignore the American Citizens who have every right to expect their government to work for them instead of failing them. Vote them all out and lets start fresh with maybe some common sense politicians, who actually work for the people instead of themselves. We have a lot of out of work business owners, who could more than likely do an excellent job of running this country. At least they would know the basics of how to put people to work and balance the budgets once we dig out of this Obama hole we are in.

People keep saying that illegal people spend alot of money in Arizona.. Really? are you kidding me or just trolling. The illegals I know in texas do not have a big roll of money in their wallet so chucking their change out for over priced novelty giftshop items is unimaginable.

Why does everyone say it's " white people who are doing this". Get real. Get your paper in order, show people who you are. It is a crime, to be out in public without identification. That is why everyone has an I.D., to identify themselves when requested. How do you think it is a crime to ask someone for their I.D. ?

Get your i.d. out, show it when asked, and be happy some non tax paying schlum isn't stealing your job. If he doesn't pay taxes because well he has no social security to address his taxes to, then he can get paid a bit less than you and still take home as much as you. So your boss might find it better fitting to pay him less to do what you do.

The Mexican government is a joke. Of course they have a personal stake in the issue of illigal immagration...they support it. Most of the illigal immigrants come here to make as much money as they can to send back to Mexico, save as much as they can over about five years time and return to Mexico and live the good life. $10,000 U.S. goes a long way down there. Most don't even want to become citizens of the U.S. They know all the "in and outs" of our government programs and they use each and everything offered and when the time comes and they've accumulated enough money that will give them a good standard of living back down in their country, they're out of here. I made friends with two Mexicans at the work place who did just that, and every few years they come back to send more money back to their family to maintain their lifestlyle. The Mexican government couldn't be happier with the arrangement. Its all those american dollars going into the economy of Mexico.
Does anyone ever recall that we were at war with Mexico less than a 100 years ago?
They hated Americans then and they still do....just mention passing a law to stop illigal immigration, or maybe a law like Arizona just passed and read some of the "comments" from our Mexican visitors here in our country.
When American citizens get killed by an illigal immigrant bringing illigal immigrants into this country, its time to get serious and I stand by Arizona's governor and the state's government as a whole for implementing that law and to hell with what Mexico thinks or its citizens in this country now illigally and hopefully more stiffer laws will be passed that'll turn up the heat and send you back and if you do want to be a citizen of this country you can go thru the legal process like millions of others have done.
I fought for the right to be an American citizen in Vietnam and so did alot of Hispanics.
I was sent because I was American along with a hell of alot of Hispanic Americans.
Alot of European immigrants died when they came to this country and took it from the " native American", history doesn't make excuses for conquering a country, their descents do. The point is, our ancestors fought for the right to be here, we have fought for the right since and if you want to be a part of this country....DO IT LEGALLY!!

Check out Mexico's laws regarding illegal immigrants. Mexico deports or imprisons them.

What hypocrites. The Mexican government laughs up their sleeves as they upbraid us for our "lack of humanity."

The law is too easy to abuse. In theory, this should only affect illegal immigrants, but how about a cop ask the same person everyday? Also, you must be stupid to not see how easy it is to abuse the law. How do you feel if my cop friends and I just ask you for your paperwork everyday? When you are going to work, going out for lunch, going to the mall, etc.... Shot, if this is going to pass in CA, I might as well become a cop and start messing around and start asking white people. Yes, illegal immigrant can have pale skin color. It's going to be a fun time.

The whole point of this thread to me is Illegal is Illegal! No matter what the crime is! Almost always, criminals and those who shelter their criminal behavior use doubletalk, slander and counter accusations to justify the crime they have committed. When is the last time you heard someone doing something Illegal, admit to the crime they have perpetrated! Either you’re a country full of laws, or you’re a country in chaos! Either way, life is not fair, and the majority will rule non-the less. We have all seen Countries in Chaos run by Dictators, Warlords, and Gangs of thugs! If that is the country in which you choose to live, no one is stopping anyone from moving to those countries, but this is not the way in which most Americans wish to live!

If you have the proper work Visa then there is no problem.

All of the people complaining about being racially profiled here's a thought. Why don't you encourage your fellow Mexicans or Latinos to just come here legally? If all of you would have just come here legally us Arizonians wouldn't have needed to even consider this law. In reality, your fellow countrymen who came here as illegal immigrants brought this upon you and them.

    I ask you one question...

How do you identify an illegal immigrant from Mexico?

When you can answer that question without insulting anyone... please share.

Ok, for all the people here that are screaming racial profiling, so what, it will happen to us all big whoop. I have friends from many diverse backgrounds; black, latino, white, ect. and you want to know the scary part is that we all fit our profiles and if you listen to music you will hear people profiling themselves as well as others, but do you complain about that no you turn it up when then song starts talking about rims and trucks, so stop all your BS crying just for attention. In case you didn't know if not for profiling then we wouldn't have caught the Time square bomber did you think about that. This country as a whole is so concerned with this petty crap that one day a terrorist will sue us because he was profiled then what? Oh wait its ok to profile terrorist just not illegal's right? People, not just mexicans, that are comeing over illegally are very much hurting our economy, some of the jobs taken may not seem like much to some of you that make over 90,000 a year, but for the majority of us, we would love the chance to have any kind of job as long as it will pay. That won't happen because we demand to be paid for our labor, not given chicken feed.

A person is an intelligent calm creature but people are single minded skateboards, just a small push and all thought processes stop, or have we all forgotten there is a war goin on and a chief that constantly lies to us, who by the way was placed in office because of the color of his skin, if you think I am lying then look at it again. Up until this last election the majority voteing age was 45+ this past election was the 18-25 age group, and guess what most of them are ignorant followers that just wanted to make history by electing a black presidient ( who has yet to hold up to any of his promises.) I would have never thought this way if not for every single hip hop/rap radio station and most commedians and actors started proclaiming that this was "their" president.

All in all this bill is a good thing and I hope my state will pass a law just like it. For myself and every single person out there, worry about yourself and your own family don't be wasteful and always place God first. God Bless America and all its people.

Really, you think that if they do not want to be stopped and questioned, will they go back to their OWN country. We would be stopped and questioned in Mexica if the shoe was on the other foot.

I think that the Bill is REQUIRED to halt illegal immagration and to halt criminals who come here illegally, commit crimes, then run across the border. I think its a good law. People who are here legally should have nothing to worry about.
