A pre-trial hearing for actor Rip Torn, scheduled for Tuesday, has been postponed until next month.
Torn's next appearance at the Litchfield Judicial District Superior Court in Connecticut is scheduled for May 25, according to the county newspaper, The Register Citizen.
Torn, 79, is accused of breaking into a bank near his Lakeville, Connecticut, home in late January with a revolver while intoxicated.
Authorities charged him with first-degree burglary and carrying a pistol without a permit, both felonies, and other misdemeanor charges.

That is a disturbing image, somthing out of one of his movies!!
I've had the pleasure of meeting Mr. Torn a few times socially and I have been saddened to read the continuing saga of his legal trouble. I hate to see him made fun of – he's a great actor and a very nice man despite his alcoholism and now, I fear, his dementia. The man just needs the strength to stay sober, which would be easier if the public showed some compassion. Best wishes, Rip. I hope the rehab is going to stick. It must suck being 79 and in failing health with his big personality, and I get why it's been very tough for him.
