Manager: Bret Michaels' tour could resume in late May

Bret Michaels' recovery from a brain hemorrhage suffered last week is going well enough that his concert tour could resume in a month, according to a statement on his website. The rock singer and reality TV star suffered a massive brain hemorrhage and was hospitalized Friday.

"Even though yesterday was a minor setback, doctors remain hopeful for a full recovery and plan to release more specific information next Monday," his road manager Janna Alias said in the statement.

Tuesday's statement from Elias disclosed Michaels suffered "a side effect from the brain hemorrhage called hyponatremia, a lack of sodium in the body which leads to seizures." Doctors still have not pinpointed the "exact cause of the rupture" in Michaels' brain, she said.

"He is responding well to tests and treatments," Elias said.

Michaels, 47, was the lead singer for the '80s glam-metal "hair band" Poison. He became a reality star by headlining the VH1 show "Rock of Love with Bret Michaels." He has also appeared on "Celebrity Apprentice."

"At this time we are planning to resume the tour May 26th in Ft. Smith, Arkansas provided there are no further complications or setbacks," Elias wrote.

Mark my words, this road manager will be eating his words. How people in positions of responsibility can conduct themselves with such stupidity and expect to retain credibility is laughable. I hope Brett can return to a normal life but don't be lining up for show tickets just yet.

His fans understand that he needs time to heal – please don't push it – we'd rather wait until he's 110% than pushing it and possibly losing him. Please Bret think about your kids.

  4. Chill

Bret, you should just chill for a bit and snuggle with someone special. Although, it could be a big draw to jump back in so quick.
I would listen to what the doctors tell you.

Seems logical, nowadays things are different and recovery time is not what it was then.
He can become a stunt man if he wanted. Besides he stated that his head is like a brick,
no big deal. Every post here is negative, maybe some here need a taste of some good
practice to jar their heads. Health Reform will deal with them.

Brett's manager also needs to be hospitalized, but not in an ICU – how about a psychiatric hospital?

is the manager on drugs? What the hell is he thinking, oops – does not appear as though he is

Maybe Brett's not the only one with brain issues. His manager is obviously mentally ill.

I pray that Brett makes a full recovery and takes some well deserved and needed time off. I hate to be negative but I am like others...what if something happens because he pushes it too quickly...then where will his two little girls be??? I hope Brett realizes that TRUE fans will understand him not being able to continue his tour at this time.

Don't think that is a good idea. My friend Garry Shider of Parliament Funkadelic has cancer and he went out on this last tour which ended last week, He is now in the hospital in Houston where the tour ended and not doing well. He is not able to fly home and is getting weaker everyday.
Bret, please take care of yourself. The road is hard and I've been out here. It is not easy to tour. Just take care of yourself.
Until then you and Garry Shider will be in my prayers.
