Manager: Bret Michaels' tour could resume in late May

Bret Michaels' recovery from a brain hemorrhage suffered last week is going well enough that his concert tour could resume in a month, according to a statement on his website. The rock singer and reality TV star suffered a massive brain hemorrhage and was hospitalized Friday.

"Even though yesterday was a minor setback, doctors remain hopeful for a full recovery and plan to release more specific information next Monday," his road manager Janna Alias said in the statement.

Tuesday's statement from Elias disclosed Michaels suffered "a side effect from the brain hemorrhage called hyponatremia, a lack of sodium in the body which leads to seizures." Doctors still have not pinpointed the "exact cause of the rupture" in Michaels' brain, she said.

"He is responding well to tests and treatments," Elias said.

Michaels, 47, was the lead singer for the '80s glam-metal "hair band" Poison. He became a reality star by headlining the VH1 show "Rock of Love with Bret Michaels." He has also appeared on "Celebrity Apprentice."

"At this time we are planning to resume the tour May 26th in Ft. Smith, Arkansas provided there are no further complications or setbacks," Elias wrote.

There is no way the guy is going back on tour in a month after having a brain hemorrhage. If he does we will all know this was a publicity stunt and hope that he has one for real (joke).

...talk about insanity! The golden goose is in the hospital and they're worried about ticket sales/ promoting an upcoming concert ( probably- just in case ). It's too insane. The man needs his time to recover and build himself back up . I hope his family intervenes and tells the biz side to just back off. Total insanity.

thumbs up bret – live with gusto and bravery. I so appreciate the medical experts views and agree that healing takes time (and common sense), but sometimes healing takes place in what we love to do and experience - which may or may not be what's normal to most.

    Bret,

It sounds to me that you need to get a new manager! One that actually cares for your well being more than the almighty buk in the pocket! Is that Manager for real???? Maybe he/she has no family. So to that person I guess someone elses life and health does not matter.
Bret should return when he is good and ready and not a second sooner....

So, who's idea is it to continue on...why don't you let him heal...this is rediculous...I think health is more important than money. This is just to much to soon...and people need to back off...if you are truly a fan you would want him healthy..we have had enough talented people die before their time...let's not add another one... TAKE YOUR TIME BRETT AND GET HEALTHY

Seriously? They always say "Don't count your chickens until they've hatched". Take it easy, Bret.

Janna Elias needs to be his FORMER road manager. If he returns to tour that soon, especially with the energy level he performs at, we will be reading his obituary by summer's end. And yes, I am a neurologist.

What do you mean "was" the lead singer of Poison????? Poison is alive and well. I have seen them 4 times and I plan on seeing them again as soon as Bret is ready. Get well soon.

Agents and managers are NOTHING but parasites. They could care less about the well-being of Brett Michaels. They just want his money.

I agree w/the neurosurgeons comments. No way will he be ready. And even if he is, he needs a 'mental break' – has encountered too many stressors in his life lately.

If continuing the tour was for money, I'd think they would start in a bigger venue than small FT. Smith Arkansas.

It seems like his manager and everyone that makes money off of him can't wait for him to make even more money!!! Let Bret recover in his own time and stop the rush!
