Congressman arrested at immigration rally
Police arrested Illinois Rep. Luis Gutierrez at an immigration rally outside the White House on Saturday.
Gutierrez, a Democrat, was among a group of protesters arrested by police in front of the White House.
The protesters wore T-shirts that read, "ARREST ME NOT MY FAMILY" and "ARREST ME NOT MY FRIENDS."

This law is wrong. I totally agree we need to do something to avoid illigal immigrants from coming to the U.S. but this law is wrong. Everyone here is saying, "The only people that should have a problem are illegals. If you're legal you shouldn't have a problem." This is wrong. Do all you people think that cops ALWAYS can be trusted and that there are no cops with prejudices? Cops now have a license to disciminate and pull anyone over that looks Mexican. I'm part Filipino and part French. People ask me all the time if I speak Spanish. So now if I go to Arizona cops can come up to me even if I'm not doing anything wrong and they can ask for my ID and harrass me and try to find a reason to be jerks. Don't act like this never happens.

These were the requirements our forefathers went through to become Americans At Ellis Island.
Immigrants who entered the United States at Ellis Island were not permitted to remain in the country if they had a contagious disease such as smallpox, yellow fever or the measles. If they were deemed likely to end up needing to receive welfare or otherwise seemed unable to provide for themselves, they would be refused admission. Finally, if they were assessed as likely to become an illegal contract laborer, they would be refused entry. People who seemed to be "alien radicals" were interned. The records of many of the immigrants who entered the country at Ellis Island have become part of its archive. The island is a significant tourist destination, and its website contains links to where the descendants of these immigrants can go when doing genealogical research about their family (see Resources below).

I think its ironic How a Historical culture of the Aztec & the Maya.That allowed Hernando Cortes of Spain to Illegally land at the port of Vera Cruz,then march to the center of Mexico Where with the help of about 4000 of your own people proceeded to rob from your Ancestors.
Then you allowed napoleon of France to Illegally do the same. Germany had some of the same tie's.

Do you know for sure that illegal people in the U.S. charge their hospital stays to an insured person? Please stop believing in gossip, Stop reading the tabloids and start reading a real newspaper.
I'm all for returning all illegal people back to their homelands, as long as we send the Europeans back to their respective countries as well....Irish, English, Italians.....leave!!!!!
Get a history lesson. You talk about sending back people who legally immigrated in the late 1800's early to mid 1900's everyone else is talking about ILLEGAL IMMIGRANTS! Learn the difference and stop whining.
Rep. Luis Gutierrez did this because he wants his "Latino" votes. Everyone else should vote him out of office the next election. Enough of this special interest/lobbyist groups manipulation. Congress is supposed to represent AMERICANS and the average Americans' interests.
Illegal immigrants are already complaining about enforcement of American Law. Imagine the destruction they may cause if they ever become US citizens.

Gutierrez is hated by the majority of people from Puerto Rico. The Puerto Ricans from the island of PR say he is an embarrassment to all Puerto Ricans.
Why should I have to follow the laws of my country? Foreigners here illegally don't have to. I think we should all get to pick and choose what laws we follow. The government would save lots of money. No police, judges, lawyers or jails required.
