Judge: Accused milita members can get bond

Nine people federal prosecutors say belong to a "Christian warrior" militia can be released on bond until the criminal charges against them are resolved, a judge has ruled.

A federal grand jury has indicted the nine on charges of seditious conspiracy, attempted use of weapons of mass destruction, teaching the use of explosive materials and possessing a firearm during a crime of violence.

Free speech is more important then the potential loss of lives of any 1 person, or even 1000000 people. I may not agree with Huratree's religious antics but the christian bible does warn against a one world government and an antichrist that will unite the world under his power but turn around and enslave everyone and destroy religion. If you do not agree with this stuff than you should not read the book of revelations in any/all versions of the christian bible. Being picky is fun isnt it christians? haha. I am an atheist and I believe that the world must be united to begin safely colonizing space and it is inevitable. Even though I do not agree with the teachings of revelations or the bible for that matter because I believe it was written by other humans such as myself, I still believe in free speech to believe in any type of religious rhetoric that one decides they believe is real. Free speech is the most important thing in the world to me. Even if these guys decide to carry out an act of murder, the fact that free speech was held up is still more important.

    Ridiculous.

These people are "terrorists" by contemporary definition, minus the fact they're American and non-Islamic.

This is ridiculous what this country has come to. Like the defense lawyer said, these guys were basically arrested for criticizing the government. It is another sign from the government about their intentions for basic freedoms of the country. The police are basically telling everyone that you cannot speak badly about any authority associated with the Government. Sad day.

These guys were not just arrested for criticizing the Government. These guys were arrested for creating a hit list and plans for killing members of the Government. Whether or not that is true will come out in the trial, but that is what they are accused of. They then allegedly intended to kill police officers at the funerals for the Government employees they killed.

All these people here talking about a victory for free speech are hypocrites. If these guys were Muslim, what song would be sang on these boards? I'm betting there wouldn't be so much support for bonding those terrorists. But I guess the "Christian" terrorists are better, regardless of if their intent was to cause terror on the U.S. population.

These guys are accused of terrorist acts. Why not send them to Guantanimo? Or is that just reserved for Muslim terrorists?

Gee! What a disgusting judgement! They should be kept in prision until the end of their lives or until they are found non-guilty.

i wonder if this judge is a card carrying member of the nra? ...or christian? -no these people arent a danger, let them walk free if they want. desperate deranged people bent on the end of the world theory will just go home and sit on the couch while they wait for their court date, they wont bump up their date for the end of days or do something drastic with their stockpile of weapons.

I don't see any crime here...people have weapons in their homes, and they go to the forest to play with them. I do not longer have weapons at home because of the kids, but when I was younger I used to have my own shotgun.

Free speech?? Trying to blow up policemen has something to do with free speech? The Hutaree nine. Poster children for the Republican Party in America. Sad. They use to be such a Grand Old Party. Now they are just the champions of these nutty bigotted rubes.

Let's just hope the nut in New York doesn't turn out to be one of their brethren.

Without having all of the information, I can still say with relative ease that it's the evil mentality behind what they were saying that spells trouble. For all we know, they have the means to carry out their threats. No good will come from their release. A lot of people don't like law enforcement and, especially now the government, but we don't plot to kill those people because there are better ways of dealing with our frustrations. I work with a lot of law enforcement personnel and yes, I have had my share of bad experiences too, but I always ask people who talk negatively about cops, "Who is the first person you call when you're in danger and you need help?" We just had five officers shot, one of them killed, here in Detroit. That's a strong argument for the death penalty. Now some liberal judge wants to release these backwoods cop-killer wannabes! What ever happended to common sense?

Interesting how they were brought in about a month before president Obama came to Ann Arbor to deliver a commencement speech. And now they are being let go days after his appearance! Now theory here. Just interesting!
