Five headless bodies found near Acapulco

Police in Mexico's Guerrero state are investigating the killings of five men found decapitated near the resort town of Acapulco, authorities said Saturday.
The men were between 20 and 30 years old and were found in a car in the region of Costa Grande in the subdivision of Tamarindo, less than 3 miles from Acapulco, Guerrero state police officer Jorge Tellez told CNN.

All five showed signs of torture and their bodies were riddled with bullets, police said.

Three of the men were killed Friday, investigators said. They did not know when the other two died.

All were Mexicans, according to Guerrero state public security and civil protection spokesman Arturo Cuellas.

Three of the victims were identified as Jonathan Gomez Tellez, Jose Pastor Valencia and Osiris Villanueva Vargas. Police are working to determine the identities of the two others.

Guerrero state police said they did not know the motive of the killings.

Guerrero is in southern Mexico and is contentious territory for drug cartels. The state is near a major drug trafficking artery for such drugs as cocaine, which flow through Central America from Peru and Colombia.

    ALEJANDRO,

Your the one who brought guns into the conversation, i wouldn't shoot an unarmed or mentally challeged person, so you should be safe. But i do have a carry permit and use it. Not a coward, just not a dumb a$$. I enjoy breathing.

Andy and a bunch of others have the story absolutely correct. If we dropped the illegal pot and concentrated our "war on drugs" on cocaine and heroin, we might have a whole lot less murders in our cities and further, if we legalized pot and let the government sell it like the killer drug, alcohol they endorse, our economy would soar! Let's finally admit past mistakes and make some legislative sense for once! But with a bunch of 70 year old congress, that won't happen very soon. I wonder why it is that humans have cannibiniod receptors in their evolved brains to begin with? Think about it, the ONLY non-violent "drug"! Kurt

Incomplete story. Obviously drug-connected violence, but no background information leaves the reader dangling. Those killed were obviously killed by an organized group of ruthless criminals. They were beheaded in a deliberate act designed to instill terror in the population. The big question (Who did it and why?) was neither propounded nor discussed in the article.

We need a "month without a Mexican" in the country, Yards will be a foot high with weeds. Your house will be a mess. Good luck going out to eat. The dishes will be dirty and the no food coming out of the kitchen. You have no idea. Illegal immigrants are a human Walmart. I only hope those who want them to leave are doing out the love in their hearts to say "I am sorry we have over worked and underpaid you". If not you are sending them back to a life worse than they have here. Let's focus on keeping the hard working, good guests here (and yes you dummies they ARE paying taxes. Even the fake SSN they use is paying in every week on their check) I am white, grandparents came from Scotland. They busted their buns and now we the children and grand children are tax paying hard working people. Teachers, business owners, doctors. What happened to the American dream? We have have room for GOOD people to come here!
