Five headless bodies found near Acapulco

Police in Mexico's Guerrero state are investigating the killings of five men found decapitated near the resort town of Acapulco, authorities said Saturday.
The men were between 20 and 30 years old and were found in a car in the region of Costa Grande in the subdivision of Tamarindo, less than 3 miles from Acapulco, Guerrero state police officer Jorge Tellez told CNN.

All five showed signs of torture and their bodies were riddled with bullets, police said.

Three of the men were killed Friday, investigators said. They did not know when the other two died.

All were Mexicans, according to Guerrero state public security and civil protection spokesman Arturo Cuellas.

Three of the victims were identified as Jonathan Gomez Tellez, Jose Pastor Valencia and Osiris Villanueva Vargas. Police are working to determine the identities of the two others.

Guerrero state police said they did not know the motive of the killings.

Guerrero is in southern Mexico and is contentious territory for drug cartels. The state is near a major drug trafficking artery for such drugs as cocaine, which flow through Central America from Peru and Colombia.

Lisa: "You" in my comments refers to America not you personally. America sure benefits from all the hard labor of immigrants.

@pedro believe what you want, but here's a reality check: 1) Americans who wish to work in the fields are required to know spanish in order to communicate to the "supervisors" in charge of hiring, and the thousands of migrant/illegal workers that congest the downtown area of the agricultural border city that i live in, in order to even find these "supervisors". 2) now if one does know spanish and finds his/her way into agricultural employment, one (American) will be subject to physical violence as these so called "respectful, hard working, immigrants" feel their livelyhood is threatened. 3) if only you could see the drug use/sales out in the fields. 4) everyone is working under a fake name and social security number-illegal 5) the only people that profit are the greedy farmers and the illegal/migrant workers 6) a 12-14 hour work day pays only $60-$70! no overtime. the farmers are breaking many laws. 7) i know this because i've worked in the fields and out worked those so-called "hard workers". actually a few really were, but mostly not. 8) if the farmers conducted business within the confines of the law, many more Americans would work out in the fields. please everybody, think before you post, just don't think too hard and overshoot reality. i can't stand alot of these comments fueled by over politically correct, ignorant, undergrad, left wing rhetoric. if i need to be any more vivid in explaining these detailed facts to you, then i hope you get convicted of a felony and lose your right to vote. that goes for all of you. sometimes the truth hurts, get well soon.

Not kidding, this sounds like a zombie outbreak. Decapitation, multiple gunshot wounds, no relation to any drug cartels...

Posted by Abdy: For all you who say marijuana doesn't hurt anyone. YOU ARE RESPONSIBLE for the deaths of innocent men, women and children. You argument on whether drugs should be legalized or not is irrelevant. They are ILLEGAL now. You can work to change that if you want. But right now you "recreational" drug users are responsible for every death of a innocent person or child.

    -------

Andy, if you really believe what you wrote, then how do you feel about yourself being directly responsible for the deaths of 26 US coal miners a couple weeks ago... just because you are hooked on electricity. You are a bad man Andy, because since you use gasioline in your car, you are directly responsible for the Exxon Valdez oil spill, AND the current BP Oil spill in the Gulf of Mexico. Andy, if you say otherwise and don't acknowledge your guilt, then you are nothing but a bumbling hypocrite who is using electricity (and killing people) in order to post your horrible hypocrisy.

Shame on you Andy... you are a closet killer and a closet major polluter!

@ygbfsm Actually went and met with Senators and congressman to push clean energy legislation. But not to sound sanctimonious, you are right we need to do better. But Coal is NOT illegal, drugs are. If you are really concerned stop using. Go change legislation, you will carry much more weight if you are using while making a point. Again people who use get extremely angry when any moral or responsibility issues are brought up.

I do read a lot of negative comments about Mexicans. Well, I do read a lot and watch a lot of TV ;). I hear about many murders in the US as well. Like the guy who tried to kill his x wife with a homemade bomb (he is white). Another guy bombed his house and died, luckily his mormon wife and religious leaders had gotten out of the house right before that happened. We just don't hear about many of the things that happen in the US because the media usually does not post them like they do in Mexico. I believe that evil is in all countries.

yeah, we do have crime here, but to what extent? who is at fault? no, it couldn't possibly be the illegals and mexican immigrants and black gang members that contribute to approximately 80% of our nation's prison population. there are sick people from all walks of life, but statistical fact will show that they are less common among whites. not racist, just factual.

MAYBE IF I PUT THIS IN CAPS, YOU PEOPLE WILL READ THIS. THIS SOUNDS LIKE A ZOMBIE OUTBREAK. DECAPITATION, MULTIPLE GUNSHOT WOUNDS, NO MOTIVES/LACK OF CONNECTION TO DRUG CARTELS..... ANYBODY ELSE FEEL THE SAME?

That's a bit of an exaggeration, Andy, unless Humboldt County, California, much of Kentucky, and lots of other secluded parts of the U.S. are now part of Mexico.

@Andy, sorry to burst your bubble but I am not a drug user. I use very legal alcohol, like you probably do. I am definitely a coal miner killer and major environmental terrorist like you though. It's too bad we couldn't have been bonafide native american killers in the old west land grabs... but not standing up for them after the fact actually makes us complicit.

    Rick Guerra:

It is not only the fault of the Meixcan goverment that mexicans have come north. The US policy in the region has encouraged the migration north because America needs this cheap laber. You and America in general benefit from the labor these immigrants provide; How about saying "thank you" for a change.

The United States does not need your cheap labor, nor does it appreciate the over 3 billion dollars that illegals send back across the border. We did just fine before the influx of Mexicans crossing the borders illegally and I am damned sure we will be just fine once our government pulls its head out of its ass and secures our borders. Either that or make Mexico the 51st State and we can secure a smaller border with Central America!

on that sincko de mio day i always have my french flag. i wish the french would have won. at least there would be a stable country and one the people could be proud of.
if our country wanted to invade a country why not mexico? iraq did not threaten us-mexico does threaten us.
    t
mexico's upper 1% has all the money and resources. and mexico has more assets than all of south american put together.
we need to look at that and see what happens when 1% of a country has garnered all the country's assets. the country desecrates.

    Hey Michelle:

I'm guessing you don't know squat about the situation in SE Mexico. Please take notes. People aren't randomly beheaded. They were either members of one of the two BLO branches infringing on La Familia Michoacana territory, or they were Zetas halcones or sicarios on the wrong end of the "New Federation" war up north.

Read up on the situation before blessing out someone who is, in point of fact, probably correct.
