Taliban announce new operation in Afghanistan

The Taliban announced Saturday they would begin a new operation against U.S. and NATO-led troops in Afghanistan, vowing that "all foreign invading forces will ultimately face defeat," according to a statement from the group.

"The Al-Faath (victory) operations will target the invading Americans, the NATO military personnel, foreign advisers, spies who pose as foreign diplomats, members of the Karzai stooge administration and members of the cabinet," the Taliban statement said.

The statement, which listed 10 other targeted groups, said the operation would begin May 10, and would use IEDs, blockades, assassinations, abductions and suicide missions.

Afghan Defense Minister Rahim Wardak said Saturday the Taliban do not have the number of fighters or the means necessary to carry out such plans.

A spokesman for NATO's International Security Assistance Force told CNN that the Taliban's "pledge to attack the very people committed to securing Afghanistan's future further demonstrates that they have nothing to offer the Afghan people but more blood and tears."

Yeah, and let's make sure to give them a five star field hotel service when we capture them, and we also need to make sure that their hand cuffs aren't too tight and that they get a clean bath and fresh beddings every day

The decent people of Afganistan need a future and hope. I hope and pray they overtake the evil people whom are truely enslaving them the name of god. Most Afgans are of the POSTUNE – PunJab ethnic group. Their children need a future. The children need education. The women need freedom and the men need.......( I am not sure what )

They may not have the manpower to carry out their threats, but it is never wise to under extimate your enemy.

It is best to prepare and if nothing happens, praise the Lord and if they do happen to come we will be ready.

The trouble with us Americans, we thnk we have all and the ohly answers to problems of the world and think we need to there to make things right while our own people suffer from massive job losses, GREED, high prices from houses, gasoline to groceries and forget about the 6 hundred billion we spend on the military, MORE THAN ALL THE OTHER NATIONS OF THE WORLD FOR WE HAVE 750 MILITARY BASES AROUND THE WORLD.

We are borrowing 3 billion dollars a day to try to pay for our GREED AND POWER and o not have sense enough to realize we cannot sustain that debt or even interest on that debt.
It is time we bring our troops home and let the other nations of the world fight their fight or live under the rule of dictators, religious leaders, tribesmen, or criminals if that is what they want.
