A member of Britain's Royal Marines was killed Sunday by an explosion while on foot patrol in Afghanistan's Helmand Province, the British Ministry of Defense announced.
The statement by Lt. Col. James Carr-Smith, spokesman for Task Force Helmand, said slain serviceman was a member of the 40 Commando Royal Marines serving as part of Combined Forces Sangin.
"He was part of a foot patrol in an operation which was being conducted in support of the Afghan National Army when he was struck by an explosion," the statement said.
The fatality brings the number of reported British deaths in the Afghan war to 285.

Then Americans wonder why many desire to come to our country. In Iran, Suadi, Syria etc etc...you receive executions for your criminal acts. In the US, we provide a nice climate controlled living area, fitness centers, games, sports, libraries and yes...college degrees. So, really who's correct/incorrect? They remove their criminals from population and from being around minors, and we educate and make ours shcool teachers/volunteers, huuuummmm!
