At least 25 killed in Iraq bombing

At least 25 people were killed and 100 were wounded in a double suicide bombing in the northern Iraqi city of Tal Afar on Friday, an Interior Ministry official said.

A suicide car bomber detonated explosives at a stadium where people had gathered to watch a football match Friday evening. Moments later, a second bomber struck the stadium on foot.

Tal Afar is an ethnically mixed city about 420 kilometers (260 miles) northwest of Baghdad.

Later on Friday, at least four Iraqis were killed and eight others wounded when a roadside bomb detonated near a park in the predominantly Sunni district of Adhamiya in northern Baghdad.

The stadium attack followed a spate of violence across Iraq on Monday that claimed 85 lives and injured nearly 300, making it the nation's deadliest day so far this year.

Attacks were launched in six provinces, including Basra, Wasit and Babil - which tend to be less violent than others - in violence reminiscent of what was typical during the height of the sectarian war.

The violence comes at a critical time in Iraq, as the country is struggling to form a government after contentious national elections, a process that Western officials have described as "lagging."

No one has claimed responsibility for Friday's attacks, but such coordinated assaults bear the hallmarks of al Qaeda in Iraq, which is known to take advantage of political fissures to carry out attacks to create turmoil.

25 human lives being added to the hundreds and thousands being killed. Human lives, I would like to believe had hopes and dreams in their own little worlds. Wiped off this planet in the most terrible way.

funny how beliefs can be passed down, i guess these particulars were bigger jokes
first they didnt even like the law, but didnt know they didnt even need even to have their imaginary power
because run from it, thought they needed it though since the way people respond to the currency/money concepts
even told u they thoguth slavery was the greatest invention so they could profit from money with their photo on it
and sleep with all our women and think could get away with it? riding that their not only responsible for ur roof
but on top of u in some way because of their concepts that hasn't anything to do but only with resources in the first place
some self image where theyre riding everybody pulling the its because of my establishment or business were connected as people
and than ohh well they left up to other people so how is not other people , some disguisting stuff where they recognize
loadning/leveraing to be the definition but not with their made up words of 'tax' and such, which is structured based on
how u not only value as humans but how u value them and even a 'tax' would be like rolling a joint for instance, u had to
pay the physical tax of rolling, so yes ur paying something and getting something in return for paying for ur needs...
it took the rolling and breaking down of the weed than ur lungs got taxed after that so multiple taxes but not even a real
big tax, so the world is givng u back for it because u get high, with their money scheme concepts ur paying math and getting it back
so getting high but also have to pay the 'physical tax' so to speak , which is something that they have to pay from their own (tax)
right so paying tax and getting back from something bigger. joint smoking – getting back from world(something bigger)
money with tax =(giving and getting back from something bigger) so the response to the currency concepts would get people
to steal and such, so enforcers were needed because the law is whateverrs with you at each step, even each smaller
step than that, which is their heads. your tp..

Honestly who knows, we are already in the beasts play pen so to speak already, I think what we are eventually atleast able to do is say well hey, obviously if we went on and on about this we would get it down to people viewing it negative and told you to stop and that you could of prevented, on the flip side the penal code or 'law' for 'a law' creates each instance and including that for the same behavior they know theyre partaking in should be punished, but know theyre not getting punished for it, so everybody they persecute again would tell god, they didnt want to be there and know it to be the same behaviors or held against will is held against will so the why would arise, well god could have prevented (since people telling even praying to stop just as people told the defendents in each instance to stop) and could have stopped because obviously it's a 'repeated offense' or their are more than 1 person incarcerated

This stupid carnage just goes on and on thanks to George Bush and his henchmen.Like I said before,we need to split Iraq into three different states, the north going to the Kurds, the south to the Shiites and west to the Sunnis. That's the only way to stop this carnage now since Bush didn't have the decency not to start this obscene war.

K that little thing about bush starting the war is BS. The only reason we got into this is because the terrorists proved a threat when 9/11 happened what would you have done sit there while your civies were slaughtered. Not only that WHAT WAR ARE YOU TALKING ABOUT we are not there to fight we are there to protect the innocent civies.

If they keep this up, they may surpass the thousands killed by Saddam during his brutal regime. So what has changed other than we read about the carnage everyday in the press. Sad as it is, I really don't care anymore, nor do I blame George Bush, this seems to be the way of "life" over there. Thank god I live in a civilized North American society.

Actually it continues to go on thanks to Obama. He is delaying the pull out. Read about it on the UK editions of Times. Eventually CNN will be forced to report on it.

Ok i have something to say about that. Obama is smart to delay the pull out let me explain. Now we are there to protect the civies and kick the terrorists out of the gov. now yes i feel sad for the loses but if we dont finish what we started this is what will happen. The terrorists will first get massive recruits by saying that we left the civies to die in there time of need. Then they will retake the gov. Once that happens all those who died will have died for no reason what so ever. Finally the terrorists will take arms and instead of the fight over there it will be here in America. I MEAN COME ON YOU EXPECT THE TERRORISTS TO JUST FORGET WHAT WE HAVE DONE OVER THERE!

@Daniel (Comment #11): Stop blaming Bush for Iraq's complete lack of humanity. We are seeing the true color of Iraq's culture: murderous bloodshed of anyone and everyone.

The United States, right or wrong, gave the Iraqi people an opportunity to better their lives when we deposed Saddam Hussein and his regime. They squandered it. The Iraqis themselves chose their destiny. They could have chosen to partner with us and allow us to help them get on their feet. Had they done so, they'd have had a functioning government by now and security on the streets. They instead chose to turn on us, and then thanks to their sectarian squabbling, they also chose to turn on each other. We've been stuck there trying to establish some semblance of peace ever since.

If you're going to place blame, place it where it belongs: squarely on the shoulders of the Iraqi people. The Iraqis failed themselves.
