Yes I am volunteering to work to help people think through these things and make good and right decisions. I am going to live another 30 – 40 years probably and will try to put this time to good use.

This was an incident of randmoness. The attacker is an "average Jane" with personall vendetta driven by emotional stresses that resulted in a trajic situation. Any "true criminal" wanting to commit a crime, would commit it in whichever manner they wished to do so. Personally banning guns in America would not stop me from acquiring one if I wanted to shoot someone. However, any law abiding citizen whos morals are fueled by law abiding ethics would refrain from acquiring one resulting in the criminal having an advantage. Its not about guns or knives and whether we keep them or not its about making informed decisions based on the view of the public on those decisions to keep the people pleased which in return guarantees their vote. If society gets on track and realizes the problems do not arise from guns or knives but from within the inner works and manipulations in todays society then a lot of "good change" would arise.
-Some random person (not a hippy either, ive been in the Marine Corps for 7 years) 😉

"That is the wrong thing to say after an event like this.
You should instead be offering messages of strength and support to Mr. Timms and his family.

Yes, because clearly the first thing to do if you or a family member gets stabbed is to log on to CNN.com (even if you are not American and therefore don't give two s-s about CNN) to look for messages of strength and support from random internet posters.

  9. Common Sense

"Take our knives away? If our hearts don't police our behavior, then something has to."

What will police our behavior is every man woman and child carrying a .44 magnum everywhere they go. Let's see criminals try to commit crime then. Our founding fathers knew what they were doing.

Look no nation will ever be foolproof-safe... there will always, always be attempted murders and random attacks, even in the most civilised state, because that's unfortunately human nature. I'm English and I live there, and I can honestly say this attack shocked me and my nation. An MP is very rarely ever the target of an attack like this, although it is true there is a lot of knife crime in our urban areas, I agree with the statement made some comments back that the UK's crime rate would soar if people were allowed guns and the attacks would more often than not be fatal. Honestly – say what you want about our nation, we do about you! Just please understand that there is no way to protect everybody all of the time, and give your thoughts to the poor man involved.

lol – yes let's ban knives – how about clubs? Is that next? Hammers? Crobars? lol She could have hit him with a car. I think England is right for banning guns. It's easy enough to pull a trigger and someone dies.

May god bless and protect the man who was stabbed. May he give peace to him and his family. May you all also live in peace and harmony and long lives and may god give you the strength and wisdom to help each other and all living beings. Be safe, be wise and be good.
