Actually LousLuv, a majority of violence committed in America is committed by those that identify themselves on the Political Left.

Some guy tells Gordon=, you have it backwards. Have UK violence gone down or up since guns were taken away from law abiding citizens?

Don't let this poster make you go around gathering info, if they wanna know something, well, let them spend their time.
    Don't ya just hate that?

Clearly, this is the fault of the Bush administration and the Arizona immigration law.

LousLuv, that was really witty and insightful. Truly it was. We are now all smarter for the advice you have given. Also, the name calling added so much to the discussion.

From what I have seen, violence has gone up. Having bit of a knife problem are you?

The roots of the left are built on resentment, stirring up class and race warfare, expecting free handouts, demonizing anyone successful, and of course using violence as a means to achieve their failed ideologies.

Unions, anti-war movements, resentment against corporations, the G8, WTO, IMF etc – all the left knows how to do is act like the victim, and to make things 'fair,' they feel justified and indeed compelled to use violent means.

Yeah, leftist politics are politics of peace. LMAO The last century is littered with some +200mil people wiped off the planet in their pursuit of egalitarianism. But hey, they have really big hearts if you just don't argue with them.

seeing as how this is turning into a gun debate..i am a brit living in the usa..if you took the guns away from the usa people the criminals and gangs would still have guns..would i feel safer not having a gun in my pocket? NO..at least usa citizens are given the right to protect themselves..gang members will still shoot each other regardless of gun laws..i think uk should not have guns, although what i see here in usa is far less break ins and robberys, you can shoot someone to protect your property here..uk you cannot, and there the crime rate is out of control ...i had 2 vehicles stolen right out of my driveway over there..house breakins are rampant..if uk had guns that would cease..however i am not a fan of guns..unfortunately its not the gun i fear, its the human being holding the weapon thats dangerous.

Ok then. Try looking at a dictionary. As a noun, ill can mean "harm or injury", not strictly an illness as in sickness. I wish him a speedy recovery of course. The other guy was only making a joke. In poor taste? Perhaps.

Take away knives? Wow, stupidest thing I've ever heard. This might be only the begginning of new violence from post election. If a person has a motive to kill or hurt they will find any means of doing it. Violence is part of human nature. For the USA, yes many crimes would be stopped but almost everyone owns a gun. It is part of our liberties and rights. Most are law-obiding and are used for civil purposes.

Elliot, if you took away guns from law abiding citizens, violence would go up since the law abiding citizens aren't the ones committing the crimes.

Why do people always respond to these articles thinking of themselves? "Great, now they will take our knives as well as guns." Yes, because this is about you. How about you think about someone else for a change? Whether you agree with this man's politics or not, he was still attacked- his injuries may not threaten his life, but surely his sense of personal safety has been harmed. You should spare a thought for him but more importantly for his family, who must be very scared right now. I hope he recovers soon.
