NORAD: U.S. jets intercept ultralight plane from Mexico

Two F-16 military fighter jets intercepted an ultralight aircraft that flew into Arizona from Mexico on Sunday and tracked it until the ultralight returned to Mexico, the North American Aerospace Defense Command said.

A statement by the NORAD command center in Colorado said the ultralight crossed into U.S. airspace just after 6 a.m. Arizona time (9 a.m. ET).

The F-16s were launched to intercept it, and they shadowed it for 30
minutes before the ultralight returned to Mexico, according to the NORAD
statement. No other details were immediately available.

I see people saying that we beat Mexico before and we will do it again. Don't be so sure. I think this administration has shown what it would do by its response to the situation in Arizona. Nothing! Or worse. Why is Holder talking about lawsuits against Arizona when there is a federal law regarding illegal immigration. And by the way, that doesn't mean just Mexicans. The federal government is obviously trying to avoid abiding by its own laws.

Turn the Damn border zone into a military base. Let the military just do it's job and the illegal crossings will stop dead in their tracks it's the best solution. If you support illegal aliens invading then you should be deported with them. ( or shot by the military when you breach secured areas. ) Don't like my ideas tuff. Don't Like the US then leave. But if you don't belong here in the first place then the Military has the right to send you home in a body bag.

Those who are for this Arizona bill are in denial about things and want to hold on to "their" country, when in effect, it is EVERYONE'S country. If the immigration laws were not so terribly difficult to resolve where people could quickly get their citizenship papers, you would not be seeing illegal immigrants much anymore because as it stands right now they have to hide and cannot be totally open about being here in the land of opportunity.

So, the answer is not the very punitive Arizona immigration law that reaches its hands all the way to legal Hispanic citizens, but rather to pave the path for those who are here illegally to get their citizenship papers legally As Quickly As Possible, grandfathering them in at this time, and then let them pay fees to get to where they want to be in the U.S. We need them for work no one else, including you (let's be honest about it) want to do.

Let's all contact our Senators and Congressmen and Tell Them that the answer is in hastening the process for those already here to become legal citizens! That would solve so many of our problems, saving states tons of money in potential lawsuits, while showing the rest of the world that America is still a humanitarian nation that prides itself in offering Opportunity To ALL!

Crime pays! Sneak in then wait around long enough and you'll be forgiven for illegally entering the country.

I have a thought, Lets enforce our borders, and anyone here illegally go home and apply, there is a wait list but it is apparently worth it. As far as folks thinking it is "everyone's country" please get over it if you are not a citizen. For whatever reason our government has chosen not to enforce the laws basically out of greed of businesses. If it was up to me, we would draw a line where the border is and shoot anyone that crosses it.

If we did not make your land better, why do you want to be here so bad instead of your own country?

Lets just say that we need to lock down the borders right now it's a major problem. There is not enuff policing ability to stop the incursions and it will only get worse. The idea of making them all legal citizens is ludicrous at best. Gee lets give the the right to vote and ability to change the laws so that they can come over illegally far easier than they do now. They screwed up their country so bad that they want to leave now they want to come in here and screw this one up and it wont take much with that obama clown on their side. The only effective means to stop this once and for all is just as I've stated make the border area all military held land.
Did anyone ever see the move Red Dawn?
Right now it's just Illegals coming over if you don't lock it down now worse will come. It's bad enuff that our country is getting the drug dealers, rapist and other criminal types flooding in what are you going to do when worse than that starts coming in?

We don't want anymore Mexicans in this country , Legal or Illegal. What is so hard to understand about that. We are NOT going to give you the high paying jobs NOW or EVER. You WILL be the slave labor of this country. That is why the businesses have you here. You will NEVER get ahead, our tax system will take care of those gains, you THINK you have, then take it all back from you. Politicians lie to you to get your vote, then SCREW you. Think you have the AMERICAN Dream, NOT. Not now, Not ever.

This is easy, if you have courage white, brown, browner, whatever .....

Remove the border. Let the central/northern amaerica population and economies work together, OIL is there, jobs here.
This would be AMERICA as it could be – Very strong, two legal languages, both taught in school from k-12, a wondeful opportunity.

Ignoramuses, and racists will always find their place. Just imagine what an interesting geographical and social place a real America could be.

And LOTS of money to be made ...........................LOTS

Who is brave enought to really build a future not tied to colonial habits, ghosts, and lots of bad lessons learned.

Lets have a referendum....from both countries - set an example for the world.

Any other ideas are just built on cowardice, lack of knowledge, will, and fear .... imagine how all immigrants who came to America originally lived in fear - but held out great hope .................

I can find nothing in this article that indicates the plane wasn't a smuggler's plane. Nor do I read anything about transporting people for illegal entry. The plane turned back. I see nothing about what the plane was doing in the airspace other than flying. Apparently US airspace was violated.

Why are the comments about immigration?

    Read. Then write.

And I didn't read. The article is from mid May, 2010, I assumed this was a current event since it is under the banner "This Just In".

    Read, then write for sure.

PLEASE!!!. Does anyone really think the person on the ultralight was trying to make it across the border so they could seek a better life here in the U.S.??? Its about a better life alright, dropping your load of dope and picking up your cash.
They should have caught the ultralight in there jet stream. OOPS....It had mechanical mechanical failure and crashed.

Americans stole land from the Indians, stole land from the Mexicans, and used slavery to build this country. When we say god blessed America, it has to be tongue-in-cheek.
