NORAD: U.S. jets intercept ultralight plane from Mexico

Two F-16 military fighter jets intercepted an ultralight aircraft that flew into Arizona from Mexico on Sunday and tracked it until the ultralight returned to Mexico, the North American Aerospace Defense Command said.

A statement by the NORAD command center in Colorado said the ultralight crossed into U.S. airspace just after 6 a.m. Arizona time (9 a.m. ET).

The F-16s were launched to intercept it, and they shadowed it for 30
minutes before the ultralight returned to Mexico, according to the NORAD
statement. No other details were immediately available.

It makes no difference who occupied what land historically. The only important point is who is in control of that land NOW. That would be the U.S. government. That is the power that determines who is and who is not here legally.

Billy: Where are the mass of your ancestors buried? Europe. Where are the mass of my ancestors buried? HERE. You can have blue eyes if you are indigenous, sure, but if you are against your indigenous people than you are STILL European. THIS IS INDIGENOUS LAND, and unless YOU ARE INDIGENOUS, YOU ARE AN IMMIGRANT...MEXICANS ARE many Mexicans do you know that have blue eyes? They are dark and brown BECAUSE they are INDIGENOUS.

The U.S. government is a Colonist government, that means that any effort by the U.S. to enforce it's laws a further attempt to Colonize Indigenous land, sure, they have control, but I guarantee you that there will always be groups fighting against it as was evidenced by the thousands of indigenous groups that have done so in the past and still do so today like the Mohawk Warrior Society or the Brown Berets of Aztlan. In fact, it DOES matter whose land it was historically, just ask the Irish and the Scottish.

Up until this point I have supported the plight of my Latino brothers and sisters.

Now you want to reconquer the land taken by the white people. I am a US citizen of color and my Latino brothers and sisters, you have lost my support.

I am send the Governor of Arizona and strong letter of support.

If NORAD could determine it was an ultra-light then why not utilize helicopters instead of F-16 jets? Those jets would have to fly to fast to be able to monitor and escort the ultra-light out of US airspace. It amazes me some of the posts on this forum that are quick to espouse racism. It is not racism to protect our borders against the illegal onslaught of Mexican, Central American and South American people coming to our country illegally. It is not racism for the American people to finally take a stand and say "enough is enough". Why should I and every American have to pay with our tax dollars for an illegal immigrant when there are fellow American citizens who are denied benefits the system can offer everyday? If the Federal Government has failed to keep us safe and protect our borders (remember 09/11), why do you fault the people of Arizona for trying to protect their way of life? The Arizona law was amended that there can be NO racial profiling, but law enforcement can inquire into the status of a suspect if stopped for another infraction. Charity starts at home people and there are too many American citizens out of work and down on their luck for the Federal Government to be spending my tax dollars on an illegal immigrant. ILLEGAL is just that ILLEGAL. It's pretty simple ... comform or go home!

There could be many reasons to use F-16's and not helicopters. Maybe the F-16's were already in the air on a training mission or maybe the helicopters would have taken too long to get there and they wanted to intercept them as quickly as possible.

As far as indigenous or not, well, basically if it weren't for the immigration of the European's, this land would not be worth coming to today. It took the Europeans' (and the European immigrants') greed to come up with the technology needed for what we have today. If not for that greed, then we wouldn't have come here, wouldn't have settled, wouldn't have started the industrial age, and we wouldn't be the country we are. And if we never became the country we are, illegals from Latin America, or anywhere else, would not want to be here.

So, go back to Latin America, Africa, the Middle East, etc. and live off the land, if you want it the way it was. Otherwise, ASSIMILATE and enjoy being an American, LEGALLY. There is only room for one flag in the US. The American Flag.

We are NOT LATINO. The Latin people were and are EUROPEAN. We were invaded by the Latin people in 1492. So you continue to support the OCCUPATION of INDIGENOUS LAND AND PEOPLE?

How is it that we can spot one ultra aircraft coming over the border, but we can't spot 20 million illegal immigrants crawling over the border like ants to a picnic. WAKE UP WASHINGTON AND GET YOUR HEADS OUT OF YOUR BEHINDS ! ! !

Each time there is an election year, some Republican pulls the old illigal alien issue out of the bag and dusts it off. Then he walks around all red faced, not even realizing that there is a puppet master working him up. Racist you are indeed, sir?, racist indeed.

You are all wrong! This country, no matter who was in charge, has never had a decent immigration policy. When Leif Erickson, Christopher Columbus or any of the early Puritans first set foot on this continent–they were welcomed and helped to survive. In hindsight that was a terrible decision. The inidiginous people should have run them back into the sea. It would have solved a lot of problems. Lousy immigration policy!

Van. Actually, you don't have to call it "racism" if you like. I will just call it what it is, A CONTINUAL OCCUPATION BY FOREIGN ALIENS FROM EUROPE. You invaded our land 1st. And now you are upset cuz we are doing it by numbers. You are lucky we aren't doing it by force like you did to us Indigenous people, but rest assured that if Racist people like you continue to legislate criminal and oppresive laws you will see a backlash unlike you can ever imagine. Be careful in waking the sleeping Giant. We are that sleeping Giant that you do NOT want to f%^&^ with.

I really don't think it is the actual land here that is desirable. There are so many beautiful places in this world in which to live. It seems to be the way of life and the government of the people who currently live here that people desire. The people who live here are from so many different cultures. The people with great jobs and leadership positions are from all walks of life. What seems to be desirable about the USA is that many people have a chance at doing what they would like to do with their lives. It is not guaranteed, but it is possible to attain your childhood goals. Equality is what we all strive for. THAT is desirable. We have a desirable system to live under and we are fortunate. Our current system works when people follow the rules. Rules are created to promote harmony in our society. Our rules work, which is why we have harmony. When a rule doesn't bring about harmony, then it is adjusted to fit the needs of the society.

I am against anyone that would attack America. Too many of my ancestors are buried here. Many thousands. Did your relatives fight in the revolutionary war? Or the Civil war? Or the spanish american war? or the indians wars on both sides? OR world war 1 or WWII? Koea, vietnam, both gulf wars...afghanistan? Yeah didnt think so. Mine did and still do.

I actually know a good number of mexicans that have blue eyes. Its a genetic thing. Both my parents have dark hair and eyes. I don't. Besides there were a number of tribes that had blond hair and blue eyes. Do a little study. Not to mention whole tribes where men averages over 7 foot.

Stan – unfortunately, the racism is brought on by the actions of Latinos. They are insisting on, not equal rights, but rights superior to the American, and to their fellow countrymen.
When illegals go on strike in California; when illegals use (clog) our emergency rooms as primary care facilities; when an American cant wear a flag t-shirt in America....those of us, citizens and LEGAL immigrants, will resent them. TAKE a look at anti-illegal sentiment in this country, it is GROWING..and with good cause.

So that little fiasco just cost taxpayers about 50K in fuel and maintenance fees and wear and tear on the engines. Too bad the US wasnt so good in the NEW YORK area of getting fingters up so fast. Great Job Arizona ANG.....keep up the great work of keeping CRIMINAL TRESSPASSORS who dont want to apply and get in legally and wait their turn like so many
    others have done.
