NORAD: U.S. jets intercept ultralight plane from Mexico

Two F-16 military fighter jets intercepted an ultralight aircraft that flew into Arizona from Mexico on Sunday and tracked it until the ultralight returned to Mexico, the North American Aerospace Defense Command said.

A statement by the NORAD command center in Colorado said the ultralight crossed into U.S. airspace just after 6 a.m. Arizona time (9 a.m. ET).

The F-16s were launched to intercept it, and they shadowed it for 30
minutes before the ultralight returned to Mexico, according to the NORAD
statement. No other details were immediately available.

Sam, you are wrong. Why are the states with the highest populations of Mexicans (border states) hurting the most then?

Go after the companies who are hiring illegals! Change the NAFTA laws that make corn cheaper for Mexico to import from the US rather then growing their own. Legalize pot. Provide a national ID card for all Americans. Why can't we approach the problems of immigration with common sense solutions?

I agree with Jeff. This is a complex issue. We visited central Mexico and found the towns emptied of men. They had all gone north abandoning their villages and fertile fields. Why? Because of NAFTA and our subsidized corn. Our cheap corn had flooded their markets and the farmers couldn't compete. How fair is that? They went north to survive and to support their families. I heard we were even selling GMO corn there, the kind we feed to livestock. It is an outrage. We took their jobs and ruined their livelihood. Why should we support corporate welfare farming in the US? We do need a guest worker program that will bring dignity and control, and we do need to secure our borders and control who comes in. The rise in gangs violence is terrible. This is not a race issue. Every country has the right to control how many people it can absorb into its society, and how many it can support. The US and Mexico are interconnected. The solution lies in looking at the big picture. Mexico needs help to better the lives of the people and to create jobs there. Mexicans don't want to leave their families just to come to our great country. It is a huge sacrifice to come here. Lets stop the finger pointing and work together, we are all "norteamericanos,"

"When you look at the bigger picture the majority of welfare recipients are WHITE. "

When you look at the bigger picture, whites represent 70% of the population. I'd HOPE there are more whites on welfare seeing as how they are 70% while others are 30%, LOL...

"When you look at the bigger picture there is immigrant scapegoating right around a time of another major issue in the US i.e. the economic downfall of recent months."

Illegal immigration has been an issue long before the downfall, it was an issue before Bush even. Stop trying to pretend this is only a new issue.

"ts easier to shift the spotlight on something else and our blame our problems on someone else."

Because illegals have zero impact on our situation. Right, right, our whole problem has nothing to do with illegals! LOL. Some people try to pretend illegals are our only problem, but people who pretend illegals are no problem at all are even more ridiculous.

"don't see hard working Americans lining up at the agriculture fields for these great American jobs, I don't see good ole folk lining up to wash dishes, bus tables, prep food, working as nanny's, or working as gardeners"

Not for 5 bucks an hour. If there were no illegals to take the jobs for 5 dollar an hour, the employers would be forced to raise their pay. Basic economics, take a class.

"that's right they're in line at the welfare line"

Because welfare pays m,ore than those jobs because pathetic illegals will take less than welfare wages. If they were not here we'd have wages which are not pathetic 5 dollars an hour.

"If you think about it these wonderful American companies are offshoring your highly defended American jobs to other countries"

Some jobs can't be outsourced, specifically the ones you mentioned. However, they can pay more than 5 bucks an hour and not hire illegals, yeah!

Ok, much being said that there are only complaints, but no solutions being posted. Here is one: legalize the ilegals. Not for humanity or charity, but to make them pay taxes. Restrict the social services (welfare, for example) available for, let's call them, the people "under process of naturalization". Even like this, people will flock to be legalized. Ilegals paying taxes but not getting welfare, happy?

Still this proposal will never fly, because it is not convenient for those who employ ilegals (if they pay taxes, they are not that convenient), and there is still in USA some ethnic animosity against non-white people.

Also, regardless for what you researched on the Internet, inmigration laws in Mexico are not that strict. Americans, Europeans, etc., are always welcomed to come to work, live, invest and marry. Their offspring, if they have, is not demeaned in public with terms like "anchor babies".

Several foreign companies come in and demand free lots of land to set they factories in Mexico, and they get it. Indeed, there is no welfare or food stamps for foreigners... or for anybody, if that matters. And almost all schools, public and private, teach English! In fact, to get a pass to some colleges, you must know English first.

    "legalize the ilegals"

LOL. Yeah, let's just legalize anyone who jumps the border! Who cares about immigration, let's just allow anyone who can hop the border to be legal!

Come on over billions of people who want to come into the US, Johny says you should all be legal! We can handle it!

I wonder if cops in Arizona will be stopping Asians too. Cause I know there are thousands of illegal Asians too. Not to mention other races. Can't wait for the race war to come. Believe me, it will be soon.

Why would they waste time on Asians who represent thousands when others represent millions?

      LOL@race war, bring it on.

    1. Why aren't Americans (regardless of race, ethnicity, etc.) flooding Mexico to start a new life?
    2. If your homeland is so wonderful, why are you leaving it?
    3. If there are problems/difficulties in your homeland, why aren't you staying to help fix them (isn't it cowardice to run away when you're needed the most)?

    Response to EdBnv:

A border fence around the Mormons? There are 14 million Mormons worldwide including millions in Mexico. Where do you propose you put that fence?
BTW, since you brought up the Mormons, they have a book about where the "indigenous" people of these lands come from. It's actually less outrageous than the theory about brown people crossing a sheet of ice in Alaska walking down the coast and swimming for the islands in El Caribe.
