NORAD: U.S. jets intercept ultralight plane from Mexico

Two F-16 military fighter jets intercepted an ultralight aircraft that flew into Arizona from Mexico on Sunday and tracked it until the ultralight returned to Mexico, the North American Aerospace Defense Command said.

A statement by the NORAD command center in Colorado said the ultralight crossed into U.S. airspace just after 6 a.m. Arizona time (9 a.m. ET).

The F-16s were launched to intercept it, and they shadowed it for 30
minutes before the ultralight returned to Mexico, according to the NORAD
statement. No other details were immediately available.

Been reading these comments yet again I find myself frustrated with the level of ignorance about immigration, what is involved and how it works. Folks its really easy head over to the DHS website and do a bit of reading you may learn something. Some of you have made comments that just blow my mind. You want to complain yet you have no clue what your talking about. Why do I say this? My wife came here from Mexico. She is here legally and she chose NOT to seek citizenship and has no plans to do so. The Immigration process from Mexico is not what you see on TV. First off its Damned expensive. Secondly it takes a very long time. Third it involves a crap load of paperwork. And lastly its very biased and has positively nothing to do with what kind of person you are. By the way the main channel to enter the US from Mexico is the Consulate in Juarez, yea nice place right. Should they come here illegally? Hell no but you better get your facts straight before you start whining about coming here legally. Maybe then you will realize why its such a problem. Go visit Mexico some time and while your there, try to access the US websites for DHS or anything related to immigration. Chances are you can't. While your there take a look at Mexico's immigration problem. Literally thousands cross into Mexico from the south illegally everyday. Keep that in mind when your doing your screaming about Mexicans and claiming Mexico somehow "Locks up illegals Try sitting through a 2 hour investigation to see if your marriage is real, when even the officers involved can not even figure out why you have been subjected to the investigation. Think that by marrying someone in the US , a Mexican automatically becomes a citizen and has the right to vote? Think again, It works like that on TV folks.

Please do research befroe you spout your words. I am Caucasian and Yes what we consider Mexicans were in what is now the US first. Have you heard of Texas? Do you remember the Mexican-American War? What about the Alamo? The Mexican government back in the early 1800's let what were then American settlers come into Texas (which has part of the Mexican territory as was part of Oregon, Callifornia, Arizona, New Mexico, etc) to live off the land. The American settler's then wanted independence, therefore we got the Mexican-American War? Although, I think wanting to reconquer is foolish, and impossible.

Hey, Indigenous, you have your freedom, enjoy life as a American citizen or become one. After over 150 years and billions of dollars and millions of worker hours developing the old lands of Mexico, we own it, sorry! Not only that we have every right and responsibility to enforce our immigration laws and control our borders. All nonsense to the contrary, what we owe typical illegal immigrants is a humane "catch and release", nothing more.

I'm sure this was drug related.

I wish this was caught on tape. I can't imagine an F-16 going slow enough to shadow an ultralight.

(Btw, to those complaining about racism here: this is the internet where lots of people post offensive stuff because they can anonymously. Take it with a grain of salt, they're mostly 14 year olds getting a rise.)

I am surprised they did not shoot the ultralight plane out of the sky.

I wasn’t going to write anything until I read Stan’s comment. “Racism doesn’t stem from ignorance”? “Thos(e) who comment here are educated”? The only part you got right was the last part. I will definitely agree with you that “…they make the most abhorrent comments you would ever read.”

Also unlike many people commenting here, I am the least racist person on the planet. Would any of the people here who are not from Arizona have a problem with the police asking the pilot of this ultralight plane from Mexico to show them identification if they had got the plane to land on Arizona soil?

I do not blame any citizen of Mexico coming to the U.S. when they could get paid at least five times the amount they would hope to make from any job in Mexico. If I was in the same position I would do the same thing. Although I do not understand how the taxpayers of the U.S. should be paying for the “social services” of these Mexican citizens. Technically, they are breaking the laws of the U.S., however, the true criminals are the citizens of the U.S. that are hiring these citizens of Mexico to work for them at a wage that is lower than that allowed by U.S. minimum wage laws.

You are an angry person. I understand you are SO upset about Mexico ceding the Southwest to the US. Im sure it really affecting 1848! Let it go, its been over 150 years. More than that, no radical militia is going to "reclaim" the territory. Whether you like it or not, the Southwest is part the The United States of America. If you honestly think that a tiny militia, or even the "military" of Mexico or any other Latin Country could or even would attempt to pick a fight with the US, you are out of your mind.
Stop all the hate and all the name calling. You werent alive when it happened and I am willing to bet you couldnt even name someone to was directly affected by it either.
You are a perfect representation of why Darwinism is a proof positive theory.
