    Hey, Mexican President Felipe Calderon

This isn't Mexico and your Citizens needs to go home if they are here illegally.

If the Citizens of Mexico feel they are being treated badly then go HOME!

Mexicans are hard-working men and women who earn an honest living, doing the back-breaking work (under paid) that nobody else wants. Therefore, shut the hell up, don't discriminate and deal with them nicely. Because of Mexicans the US agricultural economy is successful and, there is a lot of IRS money (billions) just stuck in a building somewhere going nowhere.

    • We all came here illegaly.

I am sick and tired of people thinking this in no way shape or form has anything to do with race. If you really were to really look beyond black and whtie you will notice that in fact Mexicans are the target for this law which is a race issue. You can not tell me that Asians, Canadians, and European people would be stop as much as an Hispanic person and there are many immigrant people from these places but because Mexicans are really 90% of the immigration issue you will never doubt stopping an Hispanic but you will pass by an illegal Candian and not even think about it. Why? Skin color! You can not tell me that I am wrong, when do you even consider Canadians, or peopel from Eurpoe to be immigrants? We dont really think about it do we. Yes, Mexicans are here illegaly but we all came to this country illegaly. THe only ones here were Native Americans everyone else came here from other countires. We now are citizens but when our Ancestors came here they were not legal so please stop thinking you have the right to point fingers and send people back. We all in fact come from an immigrant, so these people are tyring to do what our ancestors did many years ago. Now, regarding the fact that Americans are with out jobs and Mexicans or illegal people have job well PLEASE!! The difference with illegal people is they are willing to take ANY job out there in order to suppor there family as for a lot of us we are not. I would like to see people saying here that they take our jobs go and tell them here I will pick that cotton, potatoes, will clean the toilets, or mop the floors. Please, if you are going to be sending people back or pointing figers at least be true and honest with yourself and not just talk to talk. Would you really take the job of an immigrant? Would you not do what they are trying to do for their family? It takes a lot for someone to leave their home to a place where they will be living in fear all to provied a better life for their family. Is it wrong? Yes but does anyone have a right to point fingers ? NO! We are Citizens now because someone in our family immigrated recently or many many years ago so we are not all that different. Yes, times were different but an immigrant will be an immigrant then or now. I agree, that Mexico shoudl look into improving their Country in order for the Mexican people not to have to go to other place looking for a better life but remember that we are no one to point a finger!

This is to We All Came Here Illegally.....I do agree that the Arizona law seems like we are picking on Mexicans, however, what other border do we share with a country, hmmmm? If we were in Montana, and there were an influx of illegal Canadians, I am sure that we would take steps there to stop that. If we were seeing Asians come in through the Mexican border in droves to Arizona, who were here illegally, I am sure that no one would think twice about that. The issue is that everyone is making this about whites versus Mexicans, and that simply is not the case. The illegals here are from Mexico, cannot be just stopped on the street for being Mexican, and will only be deported if they don't have their work permits or visas on their persons and cannot prove they are here legally. Again, I have to ask....what part of illegal do you not understand. I have read there are numbers of illegal Irish persons in New York City and/or state. If they were stopped, didn't have proof they were here legally, I say they will be deported. It would be (and I hate this word, but....) STUPID for them to cry "discrimination!" because they are breaking the law. Why is it okay for people from Mexico to break the law then?

HernandezUSA – Way to go...i second your opinion. Also...praise be to arizona for finally having the guts to stand up and make a change for the better! If people want to be here, they need to go through the legal process just like MOST present day americans and their preceeding generations (shy of the initial settlers) did when they came through New York and other immigration points and registered here.

This is to Mr Rodriguez.....I am not discriminating. I want EVERYONE to follow the rules, no matter where they are from....I really don't care. I have to, so why shouldn't you? As for shutting the hell up, why should I? That's the lovely thing about our country, all of us can say what we want, debate the issue, and hopefully come up with the solution. People like you who say "shut the hell up" don't want a solution, and you don't want to hear any other opinions. Two words for you my friend....FREE SPEECH. And as for the money in the IRS locked up somewhere, well maybe. But illegals don't pay income tax, so it's not from them.

reply to "we all came here illegally"
Maybe you're on the correct side of the argument, but your view is ridiculous. Because of the color of skin? Give me a break. In one sentence, you say that Mexicans are 90% of the issue and in the next you say that they share a greater portion of the blame. Um, duh.
Wouldn't you expect those to be proportionately related?
If mexicans are 90% of the issue, wouldn't they get, I don't know, 90% of the blame?
Jumping to the color of skin shows your ignorance. Quite frankly, most of us are past those arguments. Join the club.

    • Read the bill!

@ "We all came here illegaly."

No one will be stopped because of this new law. That is simply not in the bill, has never been in the bill, and the reason Obama wrings his hands about "potential civil rights abuses" instead of DOING something is because there is very little wiggle room whereby this law would cause injury or even inconvenience to legal residents.

So for those who say this is about race and won't read or listen to the truth, you have my pity. But you are exposed as the frauds you are. You are stooges willing to subvert the rule of law, your neighbor's jobs, and the fiscal soundness of our country so that the Democrats can win some elections with Latino votes. Thanks for your "contribution" to our society, but no thanks!

      Lets speak about injustice
such as law SB 1070 in Arizona...that i find offensive on so many levels:
as a Latino, as a U.S. citizen, as an American and as a human being.
A law that seeks to discriminate and persecute based on the color one's skin,
the language that one speaks, the physical characteristics and rich cultural heritage that
define the origins of who we are.
A law that relegates us to the status of 2nd class "Americans" who now must "justify" at any
given moment to the powers that be..that with a piece of paper... we are "worthy" human beings
That is not the America i know and love founded by immigrants that rose to a super-power on
the ingenuity, resourcefulness and culturally rich diversity of its people

      Lets speak about Latino immigration.
Aside from any drugs or criminal elements that merit stronger border security,
a hard work ethic, perseverance, resourcefulness and strong sense of family and
religious core values describes the typical Latino immigrant.. often forced by social or economic
conditions unsustainable at home, to leave their native land and look northward to
America as the land of opportunity..How different is that from the reasons, values and
aspirations that perhaps the ancestors of non-latino Americans had.. coming in on boats thru Ellis Island?
The Latino immigrant should be recognized for the valuable asset to America that it is
not a liability or a nuisance to be dealt with...immigration reform is the answer

Often the rhetoric is that "illegals" take jobs away? last i checked is not
doctors, lawyers and engineers that "cross over" to take the jobs away from middle class America
The greed and irresponsibility of corporate America has made sure to take care of that just fine! no doubt with major help from corrupt and morally bankrupted politicians who instead of going into service
"for the people" sell-out and abuse power for their own selfish interests.THAT's What ShOULD Make
You Angry! not the working class Latino immigrant in search of a better life for himself and his family
often working the hardest of jobs for the worst in often deemed too demeaning or too
beneath them by their US-born opponents, yet still managing to forge a life.. with studies showing
that what Latino immigrants contribute is far more than any drain on any resources.
It is clear that as aging baby boomers retire and non-latino birth rates drop “We”
the fast growing Latino community with its purchasing power collectively now nearing a trillion
dollars a year..will become a driving force of the American economy to secure its longevity.
This should foster unity, tolerance and cooperation...not division.

It is already a federal law, now it was placed as a state law. You can cry race all you want but that is just not the truth. Mexicans are one of the targets of this law, but not Hispanics. Mexican is a nationality not a race. If you are here legally it is not a problem. In other countries, to include Mexico, we must show our passport to local and fedral law enforcement officers. Why is that a problem here? We are a nation of laws that need to be enforced otherwise we would be no better than Mexico, where criminals run the show. many immigrants come here legally why should certains get away with cheating their way in?

If you are in the US with the proper certification, than you have nothing to be worried about. If you are not, than you need to obtain the paperwork or return to where you ARE legally allowed to live. Here in Louisiana, where the economy is taking a downward spiral, no American hard-working men can get a job because the Mexicans have taken them. There is something wrong with this picture!!!

mr_rodriguez, in all due respect it makes no difference how hard working illegals may or may not be. It does not make it any more right nor legal for people from any country to freely come into the USA with complete disregard for our laws. What you are suggesting is for the USA to have an open border policy where anyone can come illegally, stay as long as they want and enjoy all the benefits. Sorry, but no country including Mexico can allow such a total disregard for that countries borders and laws. At the protests here in AZ illegals waved Mexican flags proudly proclaiming that they are here illegally, almost taunting officials. They have no interest in becoming Americans. This is a slap in the face to those of us who worked hard and came from Mexico legally, followed the law and are proud Americans with the utmost respect for the country we now call home.

No one can deny who is a hard worker. But if one comes here legally one would not have to do the crappy jobs where you get paid under the table. This is not a racists statement it is the truth. All people deserve better. In America you can become anything. In Mexico you cannot. The corruptions starts with the government in Mexico and the oil cartel in Mexico that keeps the people in poverty. I have to wonder if POT was made legal...

here we call it illegal immigration....other countries that have thousands pouring accross the border every day call it an invasion and fight back. how many people have lost their lives on the border just this year? thats why it's called "ILLEGAL" immigration. My family came here, filled out the paperwork and legally became citizens. Took years but we did it. Even have a passport...wanna see it? I love showing my U.S. passport to anyone who wants to see it. Even the "Native" Americans came from somewhere else so lets not start the "who was here first" conversation.

Apologists for illegal aliens consistently ignore the crime, poverty, and social service pressure illegal aliens exert. These aren't people who work for low wages–they are people who keep wages low by engorging the labor pool AND supplementing their low wages with social services paid for by Americans and legal immigrants who pay taxes.

Illegal aliens, like legal immigrants, should not be eligible for social services, even if they have so-called "American" children.

Has anyone read Mexico's immigration law?????? Our reply to Calderon should be that we will immediately adopt MEXICO"S immigration laws. PERIOD....Here's a snippet of an interivew with blitzer:

BLITZER: So if people want to come from Guatemala or Honduras or El Salvador or Nicaragua, they want to just come into Mexico, they can just walk in?
CALDERON: No. They need to fulfill a form. They need to establish their right name. We analyze if they have not a criminal precedent. And they coming into Mexico. Actually…
BLITZER: Do Mexican police go around asking for papers of people they suspect are illegal immigrants?
CALDERON: Of course. Of course, in the border, we are asking the people, who are you?
      And if they explain…
BLITZER: At the border, I understand, when they come in.
      CALDERON: Yes.
      BLITZER: But once they’re in…
CALDERON: But not — but not in — if — once they are inside the — inside the country, what the Mexican police do is, of course, enforce the law. But by any means, immigration is a crime anymore in Mexico.
BLITZER: Immigration is not a crime, you’re saying?
      CALDERON: It’s not a crime.
BLITZER: So in other words, if somebody sneaks in from Nicaragua or some other country in Central America, through the southern border of Mexico, they wind up in Mexico, they can go get a job…
      CALDERON: No, no.
      BLITZER: They can work.
CALDERON: If — if somebody do that without permission, we send back — we send back them.

Reply: We all came here illegaly. (illegally)

We did not all come here illegally. If there were no laws when our founders came here, then it was not illegal. We have laws now, that is why it is called illegal immigration, not migration or immigration. Your statement about it being a race issue is either racist in of itself or ignorant. Of course persons of hispanic origin will be hit disproportionally because it is at the Mexican border that the problem occurs. 60+% of the illegals in Arizona are of hispanic decent. They are not just Mexicans. And by the way, I am white and I have cleaned toilets for a living and been just fine with it until I could find something better. I think you need to get over your angry racist rant and sit and discuss things in a more cognizant manner.

Hard working but illegal Mexicans should use their energies to fix what's wrong with Mexico, not flee to the US and expect things to be better. the problem thta is overlooked is that people have no interest in building up their homelands, they just see the US as the solution for all thier problems.

Pretty soon it's going to be as bad in the US. What will they do next, go home and try to fix problems there or protest that the US has to make things better ?

You say they take the jobs no one wants yet our country has a high unemployment rate id gladly take any job i can find ive been unemployed for almost a year its fusterating an the reason they are "under paid" is becuase they cant pay taxes if there here illegally thats the price they pay, and its illegal to hire them. ive applied to a few jobs an polls show that 600 american citizens applied to the same job along with 600 illegal immagraints .. and the illegals got the job over the americans becuase they can be under paid .. its cheaper on the company which is wrong in my eyes stop complaining about they get under paid if they want to be paid fairly then become a citizen an pay taxes thats the whole problem not that the crime rate is too high. each class of color has a high crime rate.. that makes no difference what the american people are tired of is that they come into the country apply for our wellfare system an drain us dry im not a racists an i accepte everyone equally but when they are taking things away from the american people who are here legally and need those services but cant get it becuase hundreds of the illegal immagrants an not just the latino population but every illegal immgrant here in the US are using them, Become a Citizen get the benfits no problem

For "We all came here illegally,"

Just thought I'd mention, "Mexican" is not a race.... it's actually a country. Asian, black, caucasian, hispanic, these are examples of race. Mexican doesn't fit the category. So as far as being racist, it's not part the immigration action. And no we didn't not all come here illegally. Most of us had to pay our way here, we had to apply for VISA's and the right to work, get a Social Security Number, all the works. We couldn't just jump the border like Mexico can, we had to take an airplane across, and at the time our country was Communist. So good if you were able to make it here, it was almost impossible to make it illegally.

If your going to come to America, do it the right way because there is a list of individuals who have to do it. I always hated when people cut the line, and got in front of me when they should have gone to the end of the line.

In order to avoid "discrimination", the illegal immigrants can simply choose to return to Mexico. If they do that, the problem is solved. The law does not affect U.S. citizens or those in the U.S. legally.

What has the government of Mexico done to alleviate immigration from its own country? The government of Mexico complain about our laws concerning illegal immigration but the government of Mexico has done very little to increase wages or produce jobs in the Mexico. At the moment there is at least a ten percent and some say twenty percent employment rate in the United Stated yet the government of the United States does a poor job of policing the immigration and employment laws in the United States.

In Arkansas jobs are not available but the Mexican and all the illegal aliens who live in Arkansas have jobs while the rest of the citizens of Arkansas suffer.

That's exactly what will give this issue even more fire. No one is better than anyone. That's why we here in the USA welcome LEGAL immigrants, and always have. Here in the USA we are of many ethnicities and races, with all types of religious or non-religious backgrounds. We are also a nation of LAWS. Just trying to enforce them, like every nation does all over the world.

Yeah, that's why you've taken nice cities like Pheonix and Tuscon and turned them into filthy little mexicos with high murder and kidnapping rates.

Really, I take it you are black. Most peole of color are more racist than the majority of white people. No one said the U.S. government ever had to give anyone civil rights. The U.S. ran by white people at the time, tried and continues to work at giving all people in this country civil rights. Many of the people who came here, their home country won't even give them any damn rights and they are of the same or similar nationalities and skin colors. So white peolple suck, try being black in Mexico. Yeah, that will work. NOT!

    Dear Editor:
I am writing this as a citizen of the U.S. who, for several years, has lived much of the year in West Central Mexico.

My wife and I are retired, and are happy with our life here, but are very careful to adhere to the many rules and regulations that apply to our being legal residents of this country! We love the U.S., and all the advantages it gave us during all the years we grew up, raised our family, and prospered with the business that we created and worked in!

We now find it incredulous that our federal government refuses to enforce the immigration laws of the U.S., and, when a State like Arizona, in its own self defense tries to create some protection for it's citizenry, so many of the left wing, liberal people want to make villains of them, and the Mexican Government is saying that "this is an outrage and is racist!"

It is not about illegal issue it is about discriminating against minorities. Mexico has welcomed retirees and others into the country and has treated them with dignity and respect. There are several concentrations of Americans in many different parts of Mexico, I am a witness to this since 1970, when I visited several parts of the country. However, here in the US Immigration and Naturalization makes it very difficult for Mexican people to become legal. So, please stop blaming minorities over issues of the economy and politics. I would like to suggest to anyone who blames Mexicans to take some college courses in Mexican culture, economics and political issue affecting both countries. Educated people do not make stupid comments unless they are benefiting from it politically

I beg to is about illegal immigration. It is not about race. If someone comes to this country illegally they must suffer the consequences of their actions. I am sorry for any families that may be split but it does not matter. If you break laws you must pay the piper. That is the bottom line......that is why this is such a hot topic. You want us to 'coddle' and pander to people who have broken the law to get here. Sorry but I cannot stomach that. I was raised that if you break the law you suffer the consequences. Anything else is anarchy.

I know several retirees that live in Mexico. You welcome them sure....but they have to CARRY THEIR IDENTIFICATION AND PROOF OF BEING IN MEXICO LEGALLY. We welcome EVERYONE here, including Mexicans. We ask that you reciprocate and do it legally. If it's hard to come here, it's no justification for then BREAKING THE LAW. We need reform, sure, however, understand that our Government hasn't been doing the job it needs to so Arizona is helping them out. We are not discriminating, we are just enforcing our laws, just like Mexico does, which, I might add, has some of the toughest immigration laws around. Read them.

Actually it is entirely about legality. As a legal imigrant who worked hard to get to the USA to work as an RN, payed the fees, attended the interviews, and was proud to become A US citizen, and has been paying taxes from day one I find it puzzling that individuals who didn't come here legally and don't pay taxes, are surprised that action is being taken to discourage them from being here. I understand that there looking for a better life, but so was I and I'm paying taxes.
They are called illegal imigrants because the are here illegally. If you've committed a crime (and yes I understand they haven't hurt anyone; neither do shoplifters) then don't expect to be treated other than a criminal.
There used to be a saying "Patriotism is the last recourse of a scoundrel", I think it's safe to say that Racism is the last recourse of an apologist.

I am fairly certain the law states specifically that it is after illegal immigrants. It does NOT however say anything about a specific race or color. People like you are the ones who have introduced race and color into a law that was never there, and if you look at the law, still is NOT there.

Diego and Carlos show the future of the U.S. if hispanics are given amnesty. Obama and other govt. officials who are unwilling to enforce existing immigration laws need to be voted out of office. Diego and Carlos are losers in any case.

I LOVE Mexican people because they are hard-working, honest, and good team players. All my life I have worked side by side with them and have enjoyed my life tremendously. I do not ask questions of personal nature because it is truly non of my business how they arrived here. Now, that I am about to hire people in my business, I like to hire Mexicans who provide proper identification and only what is required by law. Want to guess what kind of people I would hire? You are right! I am hiring hard-working, honest, and good team players.

So YOU are racist. All my life, I have been a hardworking, white person, a good team player...a workaholic if you will. I have worked with a MIX of people, and some have been good and some have been bad. I live in Arizona, have for all my life, and have friends that are Mexicans, as well as white, black, Asian, etc. Some are good and some are bad. I have known illegal Mexicans, and have hoped that they could get citizenship before they got caught. I have known all kinds of people that have had infractions and had to suffer the consequences of their actions. Some blame other people and some just put the blame where it should be, with themselves. I admire those that know that if they break the law, and get caught, they have no one to blame but themselves. That's all I'm asking from anyone, no matter if they are legal or illegal. I have to follow the should everyone else.
