At least 32 killed in wrong-way crash in China

At least 32 people were killed and 21 people were injured when a truck driving the wrong way on a highway crashed into a bus in northeast China's Liaoning Province early Sunday, state media said.

The truck went the wrong direction after driving out of a service area along the expressway, a spokesman with the Liaoning Public Security Bureau told the Xinhua news agency.

Three people on the truck and 28 passengers on the bus died at the scene, Xinhua reported. One of the injured later died at a hospital, the agency said.

The crash occurred on a section of a four-lane expressway in Fuxin City where road maintenance crews have been working, according to Xinhua.

It happens all the time seeing people driving wrong way killing people in USA freeway. Why make it a big deal when happen in other's country? How about the 80 years old man stepped on gas instead of break when panic and killed dozen of people in Santa Monica farmers market? What kind of joke do you have for this American?

Red Bull and no dozz too expensive over there. Labor's cheap though – three drivers tag teaming. A lot of these truckers are independent – no corporate deadlines, just poor peasants trying to make a living. The road standards, however are terrible. Very poor signs, government does little to insist construction crews prevent accidents.

Dudu, the number of casualties involved makes it newsworthy, no matter where it happened. You don't typically see 32 people die in a traffic accident.

Cars going the wrong way down the street is a regular occurrence in China. He was probably going the wrong way because it was the fastest shortcut. Road crews had been doing work so there was probably no shoulder for the truck to drive on, so they were stupid enough to drive in an actual lane. It's all about taking short cuts in China...damn the rules and life is cheap.

Drivers go the wrong way all the time in China. That part of this event probably wasn't accidental.

Ever been to China? They pack more people on a bus in China than any of you would imagine. How many people do you think they could fit on ONE bus? Well, multiply that by at least 3.

Do you ever police this stuff? Look what these idots are writing! I didn't even think they made their model anymore. I thought they discontinued them about 30 years ago. I'm not even easily offended. I'm not big on PC but c'mon, These guys are way over the line. Grow hearts and grow up already.

Evidently, the answer to that is, "NO!" I have made similar complaints, but to no avail. People start pulling comments out of their butt, and that expands into topics that are completely irrelevant...racial slurs, jokes... Just goes to prove that the average IQ is actually dropping BELOW 100. CNN would be a lot better off just dropping the comments section, period. It only serves as a sounding board for imbeciles.

Hey, buffoons: The Chinese are rising as, thanks to Mao, they have no addicts; their population is controlled; thieves/murderers aren't coddled (nothing spent on their defense, much less on their care until death). And, oh yes, they're mining Afghanistan's greatest asset, copper, while making deals in Africa.

China will have the last laugh!

thanks to mao? You must be an absolute moron! They have a ~60% male populace. Female children are being kidnapped and sequestered in homes to marry sons 15 years later, they have a huge unemployment issue. there are a litany of issues that are going on, not to mention that their entire economy has nothing to do with dear dead leader mao. Who would have been appalled by this near capitalist economy. Now consider this little tidbit about dear leader, even Kruschev realized he was insane and whisked all the Russian nuclear scientists out of China when he was helping them gain the bomb. your stupidity is glaring. I look forward to the insurrection in China, my only fear is the complete and utter genocide which is likely to coincide with this event.

Right now U.S. owes 3 trillion dollars to China and their economy isn't getting better. Americans will soon be working for China. No worries, there will be plenty of kitchen job for Americans, cooking fried rice.
