On the Radar: Oil keeps gushing, Fergie says sorry

Natural gas siphoned from the oil leak burns off the surface in the Gulf of Mexico.

BP  to try another option - It's been more than 30 days since oil began spewing into the Gulf of Mexico. BP has failed numerous times to plug the leak caused by an April explosion that sank the Deepwater Horizon rig. Pay attention Wednesday as the company attempts its latest plugging technique. Called a "top kill," the method involves pumping thick, viscous fluid twice the density of water into the site of the leak so the well can then be sealed with cement.

Independent scientists told Congress that there could be 10 times the 5,000-barrel-a-day estimate BP and the government have given since April 28.

Meanwhile, it's tense between the Obama administration and BP. Homeland Security Secretary Janet Napolitano and Interior Secretary Ken Salazar were Louisiana on Monday to assess whether the company is doing everything it can.

Salazar said this weekend that BP has "from day one, frankly not fulfilled the mission it was supposed to fulfill." If BP can't get the job done, Salazar said the government will "push them out of the way."

BP's chief operating officer Doug Suttles welcomes any help, and said Monday that the company is frustrated. But he added, "I don't think anyone else could do better than we are."

If the "top kill" doesn't work, BP will try to fit a second, smaller containment dome over a ruptured pipe from which oil is gushing, Suttles said. A first containment dome did not succeed in stopping the leak. If the second dome does not work, he said, the company would "still have plenty of other options."

Meanwhile, hundreds of thousands of people keep viewing a live video of the gusher. For another view below the surface, CNN sent their own crew out

Show Fergie the money - A British tabloid posted video showing Sarah Ferguson allegedly offering access to her ex-husband, Prince Andrew. Ferguson's price to meet the prince? More than $700,000. The prince, who is a special representation for trade and business to the UK,  "categorically denies" knowing anything about the situation. Ferguson, also known as Fergie, released a statement saying he had no idea what she was doing, and acknowledged that she has made a mistake. She released a public apology and explained that her "financial situation is under stress." The paper sent a man posing as a wealthy businessman to talk to Ferguson.

In Hollywood - Los  Angeles police are saying Brittany Murphy's widower, Simon Monjack, appears to have died of natural causes and there are no signs of foul play. He was found dead over the weekend. Actress Lindsey Lohan is expected to be in a Beverly Hills courtroom at 11:30 a.m. for a probation hearing which she missed last week because, according to her lawyer, she was stranded in France after losing her passport.

the "top kill" method may need up to ten days to (try to) stop the oil spill (IF it works properly) so, STOP the oil spill NOW closing the oil riser's leak!

in the next ten days up to 30,000,000 of more gallons of oil will be spilled in the ocean!
    .
and... 30,000,000 more gallons of oil spilled, means add 30,000,000+ gallons of TOXIC dispersant to (try to) absorb them!
    .
solve the problem in HOURS and NOT weeks!

Keep big government out of the oil spill.
We don't need big government in our lives.
You Obama socialists stay out of the Gulf of the Mexico!

This is just another excuse for big Government
    to encroach on our lives.

We don't need big government in the Gulf of Mexico
    not now,
    not tomorrow,
    not ever.

Why does everyone want to tell Obama to stay out? The federal funds would help quell the oil leak and if the Navy and Coast Guard were used to stem the leak they would work faster than BP. BP isn't working to stop the leak that's been evident since day one. They are simply trying to get as much oil from the well before they are forced to leave and stop lying as well as not working. That's 50,000 barrels of Oil, that's 2,500,000 gallons of oil; and all they are trying to do is milk it dry. The people of the gulf states shouldn't be out to stop Obama, they should be appealing to him for help. He will help them and "the immoral Left" will surprise you with how much it cares. Sadly some people would still try to say that it's all his fault which is isn't. Big business is whats grown this nation, but HUGE immoral business is whats choking the life from it.
