8:48 am ET – Atlantis shuttle landing –Space shuttle Atlantis and its six-member crew are expected to return to Earth after a 12-day mission.

9:30 am ET – NYSE opening bell

10:00 am ET – Oil drilling oversight/House Committee hearing – The House Natural Resources Committee – with primary jurisdiction over offshore oil and gas drilling – begins their seven-part series of oversight hearings to investigate the Deepwater Horizon oil rig explosion and examine the future of America’s offshore oil and gas policy.

10:00 am ET- Recession and young workers hearing – Joint economic hearing on Capitol Hill titled, “Avoiding a Lost Generation: How to Minimize the Impact of the Great Recession on Young Workers.”

11:00am ET – Afghanistan hearing – British Army Maj. Gen. Nick Carter, commanding general for Regional Command South, will brief the media live from Afghanistan in the Pentagon Department of Defense briefing room. Carter will provide an update on the Kandahar campaign known as Hamkari.

1:45 pm ET – Obama/solar energy remarks – President Obama heads to Fremont, Ca. where he’ll tour a company that builds solar panels. He’ll provide live remarks after his tour.
