Airspace violated over Obama's Chicago home

The North American Air Defense Command scrambled a pair of F-16 fighter jets Sunday afternoon over Chicago when a Cessna 150 aircraft violated a temporary restricted flight zone near the residence of President Obama.

The aircraft was intercepted and instructed to land at Lewis University Airport in Romeoville, Illinois, where it was met by local authorities, Maj. Mike Humphrey of NORAD said.  No other details were immediately available.

Romeoville is located about 25 miles southwest of downtown Chicago. The temporary restricted flight area is a standard procedure whenever the president is in an area.  The first family is in Chicago for the Memorial Day
weekend. The Obamas are scheduled to return to Washington on Monday evening.

If you think the TFR situation is bad now, wait until the 2012 political campaign season begins. A sitting president running for re-election gets a TFR at every campaign stop. I remember the nightmare of 2004, and trying to plan flights up and down the East coast.

who cares...... I have no respect for the man and never will. How about we vote and get a "real" man in office in November 2012 and not some socialist girly man.

Romeoville is just a town over from me. There are 3 small craft airports within 10 miles of my home.. Gimme a break.. Obama has created problems since being here.. Even the mention of being at the Hawks game 1 caused big time controversy.. You may be a Hawks fan but why should the real fans have to deal with all the security issues because you wanted to go to game in person? Go back to Washington and causing problems around the Chicago area..I respect our President because of who he is, but my life should not have to impacted because he is in the area.
